Healthy Weight Loss Tips

Some people have a more difficult time losing weight than others. There are several reasons why someone could have a very hard time losing weight. It could be because of genetics or simply a bad diet. Even for those who are genetically affected by being overweight, there are things that you can still do to get rid off unwanted weight. Losing weight is a journey, whether this journey is short or long is entirely up to you. Focus, determination, and commitment are three basic keys for a successful journey.

I know that it is sometimes difficult to even start. For some people, it is difficult because they start with a negative attitude. For instance, do the following sound familiar to you? “I don't think I'm going to lose any weight, I don't want to change my life style, I don't want to stop eating junk food, or I can't do this, it is too difficult.” Believe it or not, having a positive mental attitude is half the battle. Just start by telling your self “I'm strong enough, and I can do this. I'll do it for myself and for my loved ones”.

This is the attitude you need to start a successful journey. Be focused, determined, committed, and start making the right choices and you will see that things will fall into place. What do I mean by making good choices? Well, start eating healthier and exercise more regularly. You might say “OK I think I can start eating healthier, but I don't have time to exercise”. I have a full time job and a house to take care of, there are not enough hours in the day for me to exercise.”

Well, sorry to break it to you, but in order to be successful on this journey, you must find a way to do these things. You said that you are to busy to workout, but let me ask you this. How many hours per week do you spend on Facebook? How many hours per week you spend watching tv? Just think about it and then tell me how you can find time to do these things? I know for a lot of people it is not easy to lose weight and is even harder to start a program of losing weight that will guarantee positive results.

I will also tell you that in order to start your journey, you don't need to start big. By big I mean, you don't need to change your diet or life style over night. You don't need to buy a one year membership at a gym. I mean it would be nice, but to start you could do the exercises you need at home. I can tell you some good exercises that you can do at home.

Don't stress yourself thinking about how hard this journey will be. Just relax and start doing things that would help you within the comfort of your home. For instance, by just reducing the amount of salt you consume daily you can drop several pounds. Also, reducing the amount of sugar you consume daily especially at night, will help too. If you could workout at least 3 times per week, this would be great. If you could dedicate at least 15 minutes to your workout 3 times per week, I would say this is a great start. There are so many types of workouts that you can do at home, without the need for weights.

Like I said, by reducing the amount of salt and sugar you consume daily, and by exercising at least 15 minutes 3 time per week, you should start to see noticeable and positive results in 2 to 3 weeks. Then you can focus on making bigger changes in your diet, and upgrading your 15 minutes of workout to 30 minutes, and so on.

Remember genetics or not, unwanted fat can be fought. If you think you can't do it alone, find yourself a support system (if you already don't have one). It might be hard for you to find a good support system among the people you know. It doesn't hurt to ask for some help from people that write articles like this. We write these articles because we have already gone through what you are going through right now. So, we already have some experience and we just want to share it with you.

Remember all you need to start a successful journey is your focus, determination, commitment, and a good support system. Just ask and believe me someone will help you out. We might be strangers, but we all have something in common: we want to be successful in our journeys and help others to do the same.
