In the end of the day, this is what all aesthetic fitness pursuits boil down to. If you want to know how to get a perfect physique, you must understand that your body is not made out of stone. You expand and contract, your cells divide and die, even your height changes throughout the day as the connective tissue in your spine takes the stress from long hours of standing. Know that perfection changes from moment to moment and more importantly, from person to person.
Okay, but how do I get MY perfect physique?
Chasing perfection is no different than chasing infinity. It is more than enough to give it a tremendous effort. If you do, you will see very impressive results with time and persistence.
As hard as you want to achieve and as hard as you push yourself to do it, there is one thing you should never forget. Your body is only made of flesh and bone. Push it a little and it will bend and snap back. Push it too hard and it will bend and snap! Know your limits as a living thing!
It is very important to have a clear goal in mind. If you know where you are and you know where you want to be, it becomes very simple to plan out the path in between. Having very vague goals is a good way to lose direction and eventually give up when you are inevitably challenged by the "is it worth it?" blues. You will not even know what it is you are asking is worth it!
Do not just limit yourself to looks! Aesthetic ambitions and very comfortably be accompanied by performance goals. You just have to be sure the two line up properly. For example, If your goal involves keeping your legs skinny but you enjoy working on your squat numbers, there are gonna be some issues in the future! Usually though, it does work out fine and even gives you more motivation as you go after two goals at once!
So whether you perfect physique is to look like Brad Pitt in fight club, a Mr. Olympia hopeful, or just to lose your gut for beach season, just remember that perfect changes by the second. Push yourself hard but not so hard you break. And be clear in your goals. For example, you could try figuring out how six pack abs are made and show off your ripped abs!
