Getting a six pack can be quite difficult, if you don’t know what to do. I know this from personal experience. It is easy to blame your parents and blame your belly fat on poor genes. And that’s fine, if you want to keep the flabby body you have today. However, I believe that getting ripped is possible for ANYONE! Yeah, that’s right. Anyone. It all boils down to a couple of factors that I will explain in this article. So keep on reading if you want to know how to get a six pack.

The number one thing you need to do right now in order to get six pack abs, is to lose body fat. Now, you might be asking yourself: “What? Wouldn’t it make more sense to do ab exercises?” No, it wouldn’t. Doing 1000 sit-ups a day won’t help you in your quest for six pack abs if you still have a layer of fat covering your ab muscles. To have visible abs, you need to get down to about 10 % body fat. So how would you go about losing body fat? You would have to cut back on your calories. However, you do not wish to cut back more than 500 calories a day than what you need to maintain your current body weight. The second thing you need to do, is to eat small meals regularly and often, preferably six times a day.

Another tip to lose body fat is to start doing some cardiovascular activities, such as jogging or swimming. Swimming is particularly good if you struggle with bad knees. You should also start lifting some weights, so that you can build muscle mass. The more muscle you’ve got on your body, the more calories you’ll burn, even at rest! Naturally, burning calories is important in order to lose body fat and ultimately get a six pack.

I know that I said that doing ab exercises isn’t the most important part of getting a six pack. However, it does matter. When training your abs, you should focus on form, and also on training all parts of your stomach. Good ab exercises are for instance crunches, leg raises, reverse crunches and the plank.

To get a six pack you need to control your intake of carbohydrates. If you are really serious, you should take a close look at your diet and start a program of carb cycling. This basically means that you should eat more carbs on days of hard workouts and less carbs on days of more easy workouts (or days when you’re not working out at all).

Finally, you need to have patience. As a famous wrestler most likely would have put it: “Brother, a six pack is not an overnight thing”. It will take some time, especially if you have a lot of fat to lose. You really need to stay determined and disciplined over a long period of time.

So, to sum up what you’ve just learnt: In order to get a six pack you need to lose body fat, do ab exercises, control your intake of carbohydrates and you also need to be patient. If you can do all this, then I am sure that you’ll be able to get a six pack. And believe me, if you do stick to your plan and achieve your goals, it will all be worth it! And for the guys out there: a six pack can really boost your chances of attracting women!
