Did you know that fitness is a value? Fitness is important, because it helps us to feel good. When we feel good, we are easy to get along with. We are energetic and motivated to get our work done. Fitness also helps us to sleep better at night.

There are many things that we can accomplish when we feel good. We might clean the house, for example. Cleaning the house will keep us healthy. It will also affect our mindset as we begin our day. People may not want to get started working on a book, for example, if there are dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and the house stinks. If all of the dishes are clean and the house smells good, on the other hand, the person can have a very productive day.

Fitness also makes us easier to get along with. When we spend hour after hour at our desks, typing away at our computers, we are not getting any exercise. Lack of exercise contributes to stress and fatigue, both of which can result in unintended angry outbursts. By briefly stepping away from the computer for a ten-minute walk, we get some exercise. The time away will give our subconscious mind a chance to work on our current project. That way, when we go back to our computer, we can immediately begin writing, rather than wasting time with various unproductive activities.

Fitness gives us the energy and motivation that we need to do what we want and need to do. Writers might want to write and publish five articles per day, for instance. A fit writer can accomplish this goal, whereas an unfit writer would probably be tired after doing one article. A fit writer would continue writing, focusing on his goal. The unfit writer would likely put the writing away, make some notes for writing he was going to do the next day, call it a day, and watch a television show or a movie.

Finally, fitness helps us to sleep better. When we are fit, we can crawl into bed after a productive day and sleep well. If we are not fit, on the other hand, we might have breathing problems that will affect our sleep. We might also spend hours tossing and turning rather than sleeping, which will affect us the next day.

Incorporate fitness into your daily life. You do not have to train for a marathon. You can walk instead. Walking is often easier on the joints and will provide many health benefits as long as you walk at a pace that is brisk enough to raise your heart rate.

Take a walk today. You will sleep better tonight.
