We all should strive to get in better shape. The question is, what type of workout program is best for me? There are tons of gyms to choose from, each offering classes and different types of personal training. Recently there has been a boom of home fitness programs and it can be very confusing on deciding which one is legit and which should be avoided. I mean working out at home? Who does that? But recently, I decided to give insanity a chance.
You've probably seen the infomercials on T.V. This program has received quite a bit of hype and promotion. But is it the real deal? Infomercials always try to sell you something telling you that their product is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm always skeptical when it comes to these products because they often sound too good to be true. But I decided to try it since they offer a payment plan which is way cheaper than a gym membership.
Let me tell you, this program is the real deal. I'll start off by telling you about the instructor, Shaun T. This dude has got to be a crazy guy to put together such a challenging program. This guy is crazy ripped and his energy gets you pumped up as he pushes you through the workouts. It's extremely motivating to hear this guy pushing you along, because he does it in an encouraging way (definitely not at all like a drill instructor). I also like how he thoroughly explains how to do each exercise. He even corrects the other people's form that are working out with him! You will need to dig deep to complete these workouts, because they push you to your limits. Every workout I've completed left me dripping in sweat, but I felt amazing afterward.
The best part about this program is that it doesn't require any equipment! This is what really sold me to buy it because a lot of fitness programs require you to buy weights and bands and all this other crap that really drives up the cost. Insanity only requires you to use your body. The trick to this program is that the workouts are based on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Basically, you workout really hard, then you get a short break, and then repeat. This revs up the fat loss even hours after you workout.
Your cardio will improve like crazy, and your body will turn into a fat-burning machine. The workouts last between 30-60 minutes, which is another plus because you don't have to spend a bunch of hours toiling away at the gym. The program is designed to be completed over 60 days, and you get a rest day every week.
This program is amazing. It takes the confusion out of working out, because let's face it, going to a gym can be very confusing. There are so many different machines and equipment, and it's hard to know where to start without actually paying for an expensive personal trainer to teach you. Insanity is all laid out in a 60-day plan. You just have to put the DVD in and press play. Shaun T will take care of the rest. However, this program should not be done by someone with knee problems or if someone is extremely out of shape. If you're in alright shape and you're looking to ramp up your results, then this would be a great program to do. Don't worry if you can't complete the workouts the whole way through. Even the very fit people in the video end up having to take breaks! The key is to do your best. You have to be willing to push yourself, and trust me, the results are worth it.
I`ve heard about this. Sounds like a great way to have a routine just to keep in shape and be in good health.
Dude it's amazing. I think you mentioned that you're more of a sprinter than a distance runner, so this would be right up your alley since you're working out your fast-twitch muscles. What's crazy to me is that the people who are in the video along with Shaun T are dripping sweat the whole time as well, and at the end of the video they're just exhausted as can be. It's legit if you want a world class workout to get quick results.
