On Six Pack Abs And Training Methods

There is a lot of bad information on six pack abs training out there. I read and hear crazy things that have no place in a serious discussion about muscle building all the time. What ever it is that makes six pack abs so special, it is not the methods with which they should be trained! They are a muscle like any other and to give them special treatment is absurd!

Train your abdominals for strength and not endurance. Endurance training will build up endurance and strength training will build up strength. Only with strength training, however, does your body start to require larger muscles to keep of with the stress you put on it. All of this garbage about light, girly exercises will only serve to burn a couple calories. They are of no benefit to someone serious about developing a real six-pack. Strength training for maximum muscle size means picking exercises and poundages where you can only do 8-12 reps and not one more! DO those 8-12 reps for a couple sets and you will start to see the results that only real, deliberately effective training will get you.

Do not train every day! Your body needs time to recover after a real workout. If you are able to do the same workout day after day, you are wasting your time when you could be doing serious work for serious results. At the very least you should be doing two days on and one day off for your training. You will gradually start needing longer breaks as you progress and your body needs more time to regenerate your larger muscles and more taxed CNS.

Don`t think this means you will have it easy! As you progress you will be required to push yourself harder and harder in order to see any progress. At the highest levels of human perfection it takes an inhuman effort to take even a single step forward! You need to build up your mind every bit as much as your body. Push your willpower to the limit with every workout and you will find that it grows just like your muscles. This personal growth will have far reaching effects in every part of your life as an added benefit!

So you see, six pack abs are nice to look at but the reality is they are a combination of a strong mind, body, and soul. On top of this advice, always continue to learn and grow and you will surely succeed!
