It is true that abs are revealed in the kitchen. The thing is that micro management is a waste of time when you could be doing what gets you the most results for the least amount of effort. To put it into terms of money: go for the dollars, not the pennies! To get six pack abs without counting calories you have to focus on the big things so that these little details fall into place on their own.
The body really is not as simple as calories in/calories out. It has a little thing called a METABOLISM. Your metabolism can be your greatest ally or your worst enemy. You can burn more fat sitting on the couch with a great metabolism then the same time put into jogging. So how do you improve your metabolism? You cut down on carbs! Carbohydrates are the fastest release of insulin after sugar and cause your insulin sensitivity to drop. It is important to have high insulin sensitivity in order to properly make use of the nutrients in the blood stream. Obviously, speeding up the processing of nutrients will in turn speed up your metabolism.
There is one good time to eat carbs and that is right before bed. If you have avoided carbs throughout the day, your body should be able to process all of the carbs you take in and put them towards repairing and building body tissues like muscles and tendons and NOT just floating around aimlessly in your blood stream until it gets turned into fat. This is optional but it has netted me and people I know some great results!
You need also to build up muscle before you reveal it! Now, this applies only to men(sorry ladies). Testosterone is a steroid hormone. This means that it is a product of your body processing saturated fat. To raise your testosterone you raise your saturated fat intake. Yes, it is still bad for you and I suggest a decent cardio routine to keep excess saturated fat from turning into plaque in the blood vessels. Increasing your testosterone levels can make it incredibly easy to gain muscle and lose fat. Each year after the age of 24, test levels in men drop by 1-3 percent. As a result, it gets harder and harder to stay fit. This is a way to increase your testosterone levels without having to go through any nefarious routes.
Remember to keep learning and training hard and you will make progress no matter what!
