Weight Loss And Exercise: How Exercising Can Speed Up Weight Loss

The question is often asked. "Do I really have to exercise to lose weight?" The answer to that is a little more complicated than at first it would appear. The immediate reply would be to say that yes it definitely is necessary to exercise if you wish to lose weight.

Unfortunately exercise is not always possible for some individuals who for one reason or another may be unable to follow a regular exercise plan. This can be due to having broken a limb, possibly even having an amputation, or the person may have some type of illness or be confined to a wheelchair. There are clearly other reasons that might stop someone from exercising in the accepted manner but I'm sure you get the idea that not everyone can go outside and walk for thirty minutes or train to run a marathon.

So if a person is unable to exercise does this mean their weight loss will come to a halt? No, it is not not necessarily the case as often with a little lateral thinking there may be alternative ways for the individual to burn up a few extra calories. Take the person confined to a wheelchair, it might still be possible for them to do a small workout with the use of weights; kettlebells are ideal. This will work on upper body strength which becomes vitally important if one is unable to move their lower body.

This angle also applies to the person with a broken limb or an amputation; depending on the limb affected will depend on which weight bearing exercises one would be able to incoprporate into their daily routine. It's not only people with limb problems who can benefit from weight bearing exercise; the lady suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome will be the first to tell you what a waste of time exercising can be as it simply makes no difference to their overweight body. Maybe this might be the case for many of these women when it applies to walking but if they were to give the weights a trial they could well see a difference in body shape.

Kettlebells are small canon like weights and with merely a couple of simple daily exercises it has been quite an eye opener to many as to just how their body can become trim and toned in a very short period of time. To get in the habit of trying some form of exercise on a daily basis is not only good for your health but also disciplines the mind and that is where the obesity problem originates.

The ideal then is to do whatever form of daily exercise is possible and to eat in the most natural form possible. Cutting out processed food and filling up on fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, fish and eggs will soon see the changes in your body that you so desire.
