If we are talking about my favorite book, one that I keep on repeating reading is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. A very beautiful book, and full of wisdom wrote in a very simple way . The more we read the book, the more clear our understanding about life becomes.

This book explains very simple fact that our life is the present. Yesterday is memory, and tomorrow is imagination. It encourages us to live in the present moment, as it is life itself.

Many people have burdens of their past and dreaming about the future. Both are imaginary , and the reality is the “Now”.

The way Eckhart explain in the book is so much make sense, and awakes us about something that actually we already know but has been lost inside us. He lets us read his words to awaken our inner self which he hopes would be awaken by his words.

Eckhart never label himself as a guru, or spiritual teacher, he is more like a reminder about our inner-selves. The real “me” inside, he is talking to the real “I'” inside.

The book has 10 chapters which every chapter is very powerful on opening the reality layer by layer. Chapter 1 telling about “You are not your mind”, telling exactly how we had been wrong seeing ourselves because we rarely live in our present in our daily life.

Chapter 2 “The Way Out of Pain” is a great explanation about our suffered or pain feeling that actually is our own creation, as the present is always good, but the mind and the thought are the source of the pain. He introduced us about consciousness as the present moment. We need tobe conscious all the time to avoid pain and getting hurt.

The next chapters telling about many aspects that made us not live in the present. Even our own mind always trying to make us not live in the present.

We can overcome this as we have to control our thought and mind, not be controlled by them, as all people are now.

So now we see the difference among I, my mind and my thought. The real “I” has to control. It is our consciousness.

Chapter 8 telling us about relationship. And how not being present, can jeopardize a relation. Eckhart teaches us how to reach an enlightened relationship.

Surrender also explained in Chapter 10 The meaning of total surrender to accept the present as is, would lead us to a real happiness.

I have to say that this book is a “must read” book. And to complete the teaching another book of Eckhart Tolle “New Earth” is very much interesting.
