High blood pressure and heart disease affects millions of lives all over the world. The fact of the matter is that we are not build for the lifestyle that science and society has built for us. We are animals at heart, afterall. Luckily, there is a natural treatment for high blood pressure that we all have access to! I think you know what it is too...
Exercise!Yes, exercise will keep your heart and arteries healthy and happy. You should be exercising regularly if you want to have good health and a long life.
A good non-intrusive way to fit regular exercise into your life is to merge it with your daily tasks. Say you have to get some where and it is not to far away? Leg it! What if you`re stuck waiting on someone incompetent(happens to all of us)? Do some squats!
Now, if you can make the time, you should be far too exhausted from your actual workouts to want to do any extra. The best workouts for your heart and arteries is the kind that works them the hardest! Whatever you do should be intense. Full out sprints, heavy weights, etc.. Now if you are in bad health to begin with, it would be well advised to work yourself up to this slowly. Your end goal should still be to push yourself as hard as you can, however.
DietYour diet should be as clean as possible. This means avoiding greasy foods and an excess in anything. Idealy, you should be eating a low carb, moderate protein and fat diet with lots of nutrients and minerals. This can be easily accomplished by eating a mix of meat and leafy vegetables. Vegetables also provide fiber which keeps your intestines clean and digestion running smoothly.
Timing is also a factor when it comes to eating. You need to give your digestive tract a break for a few hours between meals in order to keep your metabolism in high gear and your liver/kidneys strong. All of this contributes to heart and arterial health.
It also helps to lose weight, but if you follow these steps you should be well on your way to being skinny anyways. Your heart is a vital organ and should be treated as such. Always remember that your heart is aching whenever you eat something nasty or neglect exercise. A healthy heart is also the first step into getting ripped and healthy so there is all the reason in the world to take care of it.
Love this article. Heart disease and obesity is such a huge problem in this country. We need to reverse this trend!
You're my mentor, Chip. Last week, I found a pair of my brother's exercise gloves in the barn. They were still in the box, brand new. He had never even opened the box. Anyway, they only weigh about a pound or pound and a half each, but I now wear them when I do my six mile walk in the mornings and after just a few days I can already see a difference in the muscles in my arms. OK, maybe no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but it's a start and it doesn't add any time to my already packed schedule.
Exercise gloves that weight a pound? I used to use wrist and ankle weights(5lbs each). Be careful, these kinds of things can be hard on the joints!
Our ancestors were built for endurance. They would chase and track wild animals for days on end with bows and spears until they gave up. We`re really built to move.
Hmm .... exercise or beet juice ... carrots or peas :) Love the article, Chip!
Do it all! Once it becomes a routine it`s just a small chore that greatly improves your quality of life and your performance, both mentally and physically.
Great article. I've been meaning to get back to working with a personal trainer, so your article motivated me, thanks!
Too be honest, I`m not a big fan of personal trainers. It is way too easy to become one especially at more "mainstream" gyms like Planet Fitness. In fact, I knew more than them in my second year of serious training at 16. Learn on your own and find yourself a drill sergeant if you need someone to yell at you. Atleast they`re more creative.
Exercise and diet is the two main things to do to avoid HBP! Thanks for sharing it !
