The Best Hockey Player Beards

We all have seen the traditions carried on in sports but there is one that is a very unique one that always get some comments from at least a couple of people that are watching. Which traditions would I be referring to you ask ? Well I am talking about the NHL players and the playoffs tradition that only ends once the team is eliminated from the playoffs. This of course is the NHL playoffs version of hockey player beards.

Once the playoffs start the hockey players throw out their razors and refuse to shave until their playoffs have come to an end, this of course is due to the fact that most hockey players believe that it is bad luck to shave during the playoffs and if there is one thing that hockey players are during the post season it is very superstitious. The fun part for the fans is watching to see all of the glorious playoffs beards from the players that are able to grow a more viking style full beard to some of the younger kids that try to participate but usual just end up being the but of jokes in the locker room for that year.

Recently the fans have took it upon themselves to join in and not shave until there team was sent home to golf for the year. I personally took part in this for the last 4 playoffs seasons with my beloved Chicago Blackhawks and it was rather funny to see some of my buddies that would get to the point that they just wanted the playoffs to end so that they could shave for the first time in acouple months. Lucky for me I really can not grow a beard so it wasn't so bad.

Over the last couple years there have been sites that have popped up to rank the different hockey player beards and even big name Canadian sites like TSN will even cover all the different beards of the players as the playoffs progress. My question to you is what constitutes a great playoffs beard for you ? I know for me personally a thick full playoffs beard that covers practically the whole face is something that not many guys can achieve so that in itself has to make it a top beard choice for me. The great thing about this is that there are always going to be new playoffs beards every year because their are usually new players involved in the playoffs every year. Thank you for reading and until next time.
