Perhaps you are one of the many people who looks forward to Halloween. You fix up your house with Halloween decorations, such as witches, ghosts, or bats, and buy candy for the trick-or-treaters who come to your door. When the children have gone home and Halloween has ended, however, the candy is still there. It sits there in front of you, tempting you. Do yourself a favor, and put the candy in the freezer. There are several reasons to put the candy away, rather than keeping it out in plain sight.
One reason, of course, is to help you watch your weight. As Christmas gets closer, you will likely have some parties to go to. You will be able to wear great clothes to the party if you watch your weight--clothes that will make you feel confident. Parties are not all that happen during Christmas, of course.
Many people also get to see their relatives. They or their relatives may sometimes travel great distances to spend time together, go shopping together, and experience happiness and excitement on Christmas morning. These visits go much more smoothly when weight is not an issue. Rather than focusing on a persn's weight, family can instead focus on the person's work, perhaps. Conversations with the person can be about how work is going, rather than about how much exercise he is getting. That way, everyone can have a good visit.
A second reason to hide the candy is because of what often happens after Christmas: New Year's resolutions, two of which often include losing weight and finding a new job. First, you will have a head start in losing weight if the candy is out of sight to keep you from packing on the pounds. Second, your job search is likely to be more successful if you are slim. Employers are often more willing to hire those who are slim as opposed to those who are overweight because they believe that slim individuals will be more productive. They will be able to work faster, whereas their heavier coworkers will be slower because they are having to cope with the extra pounds that they carry with them as they work.
Consider putting your candy in the freezer. By having it out of sight, you can avoid gaining weight. You can also avoid getting sick from eating too much of it. As an added bonus, by putting your candy away, it will last longer. You will therefore be able to enjoy it long after other people have eaten theirs.
