Lately, it appears that we have had a huge invasion of bedbugs. They are appearing everywhere, in hotels, hospitals, airplanes, just to name a few, even in our own homes.

The current invasion that we are having, could be caused by the fact that we travel so much more between different countries than we used to. It is very easy to pick bed bugs up in your luggage or clothes, and carry them around with you. You may even be carrying them into your own home and bed.

You will not usually see bedbugs during the day. Bedbugs are nocturnal and like to hide in dark places. It is likely that you will find them in the folds of bed sheets, between the mattresses, and any other little nook or cranny that they can find.

Bedbugs are very small, and can be hard to find. They are flat and oval in shape, and they are reddish brown in color.

You can usually tell if you have a bedbug bite from other insect bites, because it is red and usually has a darker red spot in the middle. There will not be just one bite here and there, there will be three bites fairly close together, in a circular pattern.

Some people so not have any reaction at all to bedbug bites, but it is possible to have an allergic reaction to the bites, that can cause blisters, hives or severe itching.

If you have bed bugs, they can multiply pretty quickly, seeing that a female bed bug will lay up to five eggs a day. If you let the situation go for too long, you can wind up with a huge bed bug infestation problem.

Another problem with the bed bugs, is that the oil in their saliva emits a strong odor, if they have been in your home for any period of time, and will cause you house to have a very bad odor.

If you want to get rid of your bed bug infestation, you have to take action and you need to take action as quickly as possible. You want to get rid of the bed bugs for good, and make sure that they do not come back. They are not going to leave willingly, and are only going to keep feeding on you and your family, cause your home to smell bad, and keep multiplying.
