Here’s how to do business online 1 to 10!
(1) Imagine how it would feel to have your own personal vending machine on the Internet. A miniature shop that's automated. Sitting "out there" 24x7 able to make sales, deliver the goods, and handle customer service. Well, technology’s gotten so amazing that you can. Even without a list. Even without cost. You can sell almonds, baby monitors, candy, donut makers, Mephisto walking shoes for women and more.
(2) You know those malls that have little mall kiosks in the middle? They’re sort of a store on wheels that folds up, right? There’s a free place called Squidoo that’s kind of like a mall full of kiosks, only it’s online. You can name a kiosk of your own on Squidoo. There's a lot of other places, this is just one example where you can make a little tiny bit with each shop you set up.
(3) Make your own shop. Set up. Decorate. Put items for sale. Whatever you like!
(4) You can stock from Amazon, on demand. That means when someone buys it, that's when you stock it! Even better? If you do it that way, you can use pictures from them so you can have a visual experience for your buyers.
(5) How to make money online is by sales. For example, my brother bought one DVD from my DVD lens. That purchase paid out 37 cents.
(6) Amazon takes care of the details. For example, the mailman just delivered my brother’s DVD today.
(7) Squidoo’s big enough to give you buying power. So Amazon pays you at a higher rate than you’d make on your own as a startup.
(8) Search engines do tend to favor Squidoo a little bit in search results. There’s a community review process that tends to keep the quality up! Community members give Squidoo tips too.
(9) Once you get good work going, you can earn for advertisements. How much? Squidoo has a lens ranking system that favors more popular sites. That’s connected with how many people visit your store, what they say about it, and your sales volume. When my brother bought a DVD from my store, my lens rank went up.
(10) Look around your life! Write a list of what materialistic stuff you like. Circle one! Write a little bit about why you like to read, watch, wear, eat or look at it. Go online. Get a free account. Start a lens. For example? I love Mephisto shoes. So I’ve got a lens with a selection of different types of Mephisto walking shoes for women. Amazon’s user interface is powerful enough that I’ve even got two clearance sales racks. Just like a real sales rack, the sizes and colors available are exactly what’s shown.
Fancy buzz words for doing business online 1 to 10
That's how to doing business online 1 to 10. Conceptualizing. Locating. Visioning. Logistics. Sales. Delivery. Sourcing. SEO. Advertising. Implementation!
Cynthia, as usual, good article with good information. Thank you. I always enjoy reading your articles.
Thank you! Appreciate your compliments. Hey - by the way! I'm about to start recording some classes. Starting next week. That would help you given what you've shared about going online. Now's a good time to enroll in my email list because I'll be inviting people into ones they fit. You'd fit:-) No charge this one time only and it's 13 weeks program. Different levels, so I'll be offering applications, hmm I think Tuesday-ish, to see who fits where. Five per class is my thought. Haven't taught for a bit so starting with that in order to get my recordings in place. Anyway, just a thought if it fits you time-wise. Might accelerate some of them so I can get 13 weeks set in for folks willing to go fast to results (e.g. work quickly, steadily, with commitment). Seems you are doing that already, so a guide would help - and help me get them in place! blessings, Cynthia
It is my belief that just about anything can and will be sold over the internet in time as the whole consumerism on the internet has been going upward year aftr year with no stoping in site....Amazon for sure is a staple in shopping on the internet....having many avenues to get your product out in the public eyes and affiliate marketing does make life easy when another is taking care of all the logistics leaving you to concentrate on marketing the product....good article Cynthia...it all can be done
Thank you Tim! Appreciate your insights here in your comment. Thanks for your compliments too:-)
Thanks Joan! Aha - I'd heard about that. I'm an Oregonian so I didn't bump into that. We don't have sales tax for the State of Oregon. 'Tis a state that gets your money in other ways:-) ... ah and I don't actually use my Amazon account in Squidoo come to think of it. Squidoo handles all that for you. There's a special relationship with Squidoo and Amazon. In any case, my reasons for including Amazon modules are usually for the purpose of getting something delivered to someone rather than in selling it. Most of my lenses (including the one my brother's dvd is on!) donate to charity all the proceeds I earn -- from both advertising and Amazon sales. I'm using Squidoo for other reasons. And I want to generate charitable direct donations to a particular organization that is now "in waiting" to see if Squidoo approves it. Then I'll put all the lenses to donate there! There's lots of good reasons to be on multiple platforms now a days online. Squidoo is a social media site that has many reasons to value being there.
Thanks Golfspice - yes, it is, isn't it? Anywhere you can get practice making web pages is a good investment of at least some of your time when you're online for business. Competition is reality. I don't think it's practical to expect to make sales just from plunking down an Amazon module. You've got to drive traffic. In this case, it was my brother wanting to buy something that's only available online. So I popped one together for him just so I could see what happens when a purchase is made:-)
Excellent run down here Cynthia. I thought google fell out of love with Squidoo about a year ago though?
David, thanks! Yes, everyone did then, didn't they? Seems the love affair is on. Suspect it's just a matter of the "policing" of Squidoo lenses that's going on now, keeping the content at higher level. Much as every other site online chose to do:-)
