Working From Home Online: Is It for You?

Are you a stay at home mom, college student or just got laid off your job in this bad economy and need to earn a stable income and fast? Well, have you tried working from home online? Yes, there is a lot of scepticism in this regard because many find it hard to find legitimate online jobs but that by no way means that they do not exist! You simply need to put on your thinking cap whilst searching thoroughly online; the opportunities are endless.

There are essentially two broad categories of jobs you can get working from home online. These include working for an organization or individual or working on your own as an online business owner. The latter takes a lot more time and dedication to get off the ground but essentially reaps a lot more financial rewards than the former. Let’s examine them both.

If you wish to just get started in the realm of working from home online, it may serve you well to join an online job marketplace or scout jobs on virtual platforms that act also as job portals such as Craigslist. Craigslist allows you the chance to get in contact with a prospective employer via email or applying to the jobs posted. Online job market places include Elance, oDesk, Guru and Hire a Freelancer.

These websites offers the opportunity to create online profiles depicting your resumes, a platform to apply and be interviewed for jobs, hired if successful and paid via the website; in which the website takes a small percentage fee (such as oDesk’s 10% service fee). If the need arises, employer-employee disputes are handled, in a fair, just and timely manner. These jobs include from web designing, freelance writing, customer service, project management, web research and data entry.

On the other hand, if you seek to be your own employer, you can start working from home online by getting into a particular niche such as make-up, mentorship or even entertainment. Take for example YouTube’s partnership program that pays video up loaders $2.50 per 1000 views on each of their videos. If you are a make-up guru or is skilled in creating video animations, the sky is the limit on the amount of views you can receive on each video, creating a stable income where you will never need another 9 to 5 job again in your life!

You may also create blogs and websites providing valuable information on a particular niche to gain a lot of website traffic; once your sites have developed to a level where you visit tons of visitors daily, large marketing companies and other organizations will pay you large sums to advertise on your websites, also creating a stable income.

These are just a few ways in which you can earn a stable income working from home online. The first thing you will need to do in embarking on this journey is research! Research to see what will be best suited for you and most importantly, what you will enjoy doing. What’s worst that working at a 9 to 5 job you hate? Working from home online in something you absolutely detest!
