4 Tips To Take Care Of Glass Pipes

Obviously, not all glass pipes are designed in the same way. Rather than a bulk produced and the standard looking glass pipe, fair enough it to the next level and go with a hand-blown version. Glass pipes that are hand blown look unique, are richly detailed and perceptibly triggers a conversation with nearly anyone that comes visiting. For you to keep the hand blown glass pipe safe and secure or at its best, you have to learn a few tips and tricks for that purpose. Some things such as cleaning are really common, but only a few adhere to what needs to be done.

On the other hand, you can be fortunate enough to own a beautiful percolator water pipe. It’s important you do all you can to give it the best care it requires. Since they are glass-made and all are tall, they can easily be knocked and broken. It’s really frustrating to break such beautiful glass percolator water pipe because it doesn’t come cheap either. This article highlights some of the tips you can use to care for your glass water pipe.

  • Have A Case All The Time

If you have to invest in a lovely, fine water pipe, it’s important to protect it. One of the ways to avoid breaking your pipes accidentally is to have it kept in a protective case whenever it is not in use. Though it might look like a hassle removing the pipe in and out of the case time and again, remember that effort is worth what you spent buying the device and it’s helping to avoid unnecessary spending.

  • Keep Your Pipe Clean

Thorough cleaning is so helpful because it keeps the pipe looking beautiful and shiny. It is upon you to ensure your pipe is clean. Though it might be difficult to be cleaning the pipe every week or on a monthly basis, it is very helpful. You can make use of commercial cleaning products such as Formula 420 to make your device spotless.

When cleaning the water pipe with Formula 420, be sure to keep the mouthpiece as well as the slider hole covered to prevent any liquid from spilling out. Do not shake the device too hard as that can damage the pipe. If you do your cleaning much often, it prevents the resin from the over - coating. Waiting for long before cleaning the pipe will take much of your time trying to remove all the accumulated resins.

  • Oil It Up

One problem which many users face while using the percolator devices is that its slide sticks sometimes when pulled out of the base. This problem can be avoided by simply oiling the stem. That can be done using any kind of oil, but only natural cooking oil such as the peanut oil and coconut oil. This should be done every time water is changed in order to let the slide to move with ease.

  • Dry Cleaning Glass Pipes

If the pipe is simply for display, the surfaces might become dusty just from being there on the shelf. A microfiber cloth can be used to remove the dust particles from the glass surface. On the other hand, lens-cleaning cloth that is used on the eyeglasses can be helpful in keeping a hand blown glass pipe free of fingerprints and smudges.
