What Is Coconut Oil Used For?

Coconut oil has been said to be healthy enough for you to use this oil in foods instead of using butter. when it comes to heart health coconut oil is better because it is made up of medium chain triglycerides. These medium chain triglycerides good fats that help the heart rather than clogging the arteries and adding cholesterol like the fat in butter. Coconut oil can be used for your hair, skin, food and food recipes. In addition, Studies have shown that coconut oil taken by itself or in food will build the immune system.

Coconut Oil and Your Metabolic Rate

Coconut oil can help to burn calories and balance your blood sugar so that you don't crave too much of the foods that don't agree with a healthy eating regimen. On a regular diet and by taking to 2-3 tablespoons a day this will yield good results right down to losing stomach fat and inches. A second great way to get coconut in your diet is by putting coconut oil in your oatmeal. Start with a teaspoon and work up to 1 tablespoon daily. Another easy way to get these coconut benefits is by adding coconut oil to your smoothie.

What Type of Coconut Oil Is Best?

Extra virgin coconut oil is the best. There are also raw coconut oils if you can find these they are even better for you to use. Extra virgin coconut oil means that the fresh coconut meat is dried then the oil pressed rather than chemicals and heat being used to extract the oil from the coconut meat. Another important point in choosing coconut oil is the options of refined or unrefined oil. Unrefined is the healthiest, but a refined oil has very little taste or smell, which is normally good for smoothies so that the coconut does not over power the other flavors. The refined can also be used for higher temperatures in cooking. Some refined oils do not offer health benefits for the body so if this is your only choice make sure the company does not extract the oil by means of chemicals.

Coconut Oil and Your Health

Coconut oil may not be an oil to fear anymore. It may be able to help with the immune system and weight loss. Also, you can use this oil in your favorite recipes. There are many ways that coconut oil may contribute to our health and we have looked at a few of the ways above. Be certain to look for extra virgin coconut oil or raw extra virgin oil and if you have to get refined be sure to do your research.
