Dos for summer season

  1. Carry umbrella, caps, or scarves to cover your head everywhere you go.

  5. People can consider sleeping in open-air.

Dietary dos for summer season

  1. Consume milk, homemade butter, ghee- daily
  2. Use spices like Coriander seeds, Cinnamon, Cumin, Indian Bay leaf, Turmeric, Garcinia indica (kokum), cardamom (velchi), ginger etc.
  3. Eat a lot of bottle gourd, potatoes, ladies finger, ridge gourd, palak, cucumber, etc. regularly
  4. Eat plenty of rice, jowar, bajra, wheat varieties.
  5. Dry-fruits raisins, dates, overnight soaked almonds.
  6. Have lots of fruits like grapes, watermelon, muskmelon. Mangoes can be more beneficial if it soaked in water for an hour, juiced, two spoonful ghee is added, a pinchful of dried ginger powder is added. Takes out the dryness caused by summers and acts as an energy booster and promotes enthusiasm.
  7. Rice pudding, semolina pudding (rawa in Marathi), wheat pudding, dudhi halwa, coconut savory (naral barfi), etc atleast twice every week.
  8. Gooseberry preserves (moravla), sweet preserves made out of rose petals (gulkand) should be consumed everyday, as many time as possible.
  9. Coconut water, unripe mango juice (panhe),kokum sherbet, lemon sherbet, sugar-candy juice etc. should be ideally replaced with tea/coffee.

Dietary don’ts for summer season

  1. Yoghurt, lassi
  2. Corn, ragi flour, barley (jav)
  3. Capsicum, bitter gourd, fenugreek should be avoided
  4. Excessively spicy dishes, dry, food can be cooled down a little before consuming
  5. Consuming raw onion should be avoided
  6. Tamarind, pineapple, raw tomato should be avoided
