Is your house on the market? Do you have pets or other smells in your home that are hard to mask? If this applies to you or anyone you know, then you need to know about using aromatherapy oils to sell your house. They do not just mask household odors, they actually purify the air.
How do Essential Oils Purify the Air?
When essential oils are diffused, the molecules are broken up into fine mist particles. These particles stay suspended in the air for long periods of time. Not only does this reduce bacteria, mold, and odors in the air, but also benefits those who inhale them. An added bonus is that since essential oils are all-natural and distilled from plants, they are less likely to illicit the kind of adverse reactions that often come with harshly synthetic wall socket plug-ins or spray fragrances.
Diffusing essential oils can purify air of unwanted odors and some airborne pathogens. Low or no-heat essential oil diffusers are recommended as they do not change the chemical structure of the oil being diffused.
Subtlety Is the Key
Using even small amounts of familiar scents such as cinnamon, clove, and orange can fill a while house with pleasant ambient fragrance and make it an attractive purchase for potential buyers. Independent studies have confirmed that utilizing particular scents in a home for sale can dramatically increase the home’s appeal to a potential buyer. “The essential oils that are used in the practice of aromatherapy offer a more practical and potent way to use scent marketing to move a tired property,” said Tom Havran, branded products developer with Aura Cacia. “Using even tiny amounts of familiar, tempting aromas like the oils of cinnamon, clove, and orange can fill a whole house with pleasant ambient fragrance and make it an attractive purchase for potential buyers.”
Because we are always breathing we smell things constantly. You want a noticeable scent, not one that is overpowering. If you overdo it, people may think you’re trying too hard to cover something up. Each individual smell shouldn’t be strong enough to cover multiple rooms in the house.
