Do you like to read? There are many different kinds of books available. There are books of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, as well as many other kinds of books. There are suspense novels, biographies, and autobiographies. These books are available in different forms. Two of these forms are paperback and audio book.
Readers can enjoy reading a paperback book anytime that they are sitting somewhere. For example, a person can sit in a coffee shop and savor a steaming cup of coffee while reading a new bestseller. As he sips his steaming beverage, he can read, eager to get to the cliffhanger at the end of the chapter. He can then continue reading as he learns what happens next. A patient might be sitting in a doctor's waiting room, waiting to be called in for his appointment. While he is waiting, he can read. Passengers on a bus can also read. Reading can be a great way for the passengers to survive a long trip, as opposed to watching the signs pass, watching the mile markers, noticing the long stretch of highway ahead, and wondering when they are going to reach their destination.
However, one would not be able to read a paperback book while using the treadmill at the gym. It would be difficult to run while keeping a book open at the same time. The book would likely close, making the running session frustrating. In this situation, the runner can enjoy books on tape. He can listen while running. Since the person is listening rather than reading, there is no book to hold open. The running session is much easier and more enjoyable this way. Books on tape are also a good idea for those who have difficulty reading and those with vision problems.
Unfortunately, some audio books are available only to those who are blind. This is unfair to those who would like to read these books but cannot. Books should be available in all forms to anyone who is interested. After all, the writers who wrote the books want to share their work with a large audience. This audience includes everyone who is interested in the author's work. Is there any reason to limit certain books only to certain people?
If more people have access to the books, they will talk with others. By talking with others, they help to expand the author's reach, allowing his works to reach more people. It would be a win-win situation, therefore, if all books were available in all forms to all people.
