Donald Trump based his campaign for president of the United States implying that President Obama was not a native-born citizen of the United States. He gave no evidence as to where Obama was born but decided he had a magic trick that would endear him to the public. He said that many folks wanted him to run. It looked like he could be serious, but most of us thought that, as usual, he was just looking for publicity. He fizzled like a firecracker without powder.

Romney is still in there but his chances don't look good. Obama created Obama-care in his image and the Tea Party clowns do not like him. They don't like anybody for that matter, especially greedy politicians. But without their support you can forget getting elected. Now Romney is saying that he is very much like Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is running. He is the only politician that makes any sense to me but he is not popular with anybody. Nobody wants to hear the truth. But we love him here in Idaho. Maybe someday his son will do better.

Gingrich continues to put his foot in his mouth. The likeable Huckabee has dropped out of the race known as soft on criminals. John McCain is really getting to that age where the presidency would be a dangerous health burden. (John, if you run, I'll vote for you this time.)

I think that the Republican candidate will be a new face, most likely an acting governor of a large state, and one who is acceptable to the Tea Party. I think that Sarah Palin was hoping for election by acclamation but her image is not sparkling (and some say the same about her reasoning). Maybe later.

I'm not really concerned about the Republican candidates (and there are many more). Sitting presidents are hard to beat. It takes a big name like Reagan or Eisenhower to beat a weak president like Carter and the Republicans have not come up with such a name. Gates has respectability but he is working in the present administration. Is he a Republican? I think he is.

Seeing that there is the possibility that the Republicans can not beat Obama, I have decided to run for the presidency again. I'm not running as an independent as I have in the past. I'm running in the Democratic primary elections, hoping to knock President Obama off the ticket. If I win, then the Republicans will have an easy victory in the election and maybe be able to improve our financial situation, keeping the country from going Kaput debt wise. And with all the hatred the Republicans are facing because they have done nothing but complain, I might easily win.

Here is my press release:

Taylor Jones, the Hack Writer, announced his candidacy for President of the United States on the Internet on May 21, 2011. Jones had run before but he is serious this time. He feels that President could be booted in the primaries by a dynamic Democrat like Jones. Jones has 34 grandchildren and a flock of great grandchildren are coming, now at 9. That proves he will be a productive president. (I consulted with Sarah Palin on this point.)

Jones voted for Obama in the last election because he felt that John McCain had betrayed him and showed poor judgement in selecting Sarah Palin (too inexperienced for the job) as his VP running mate. Little did he know that he was voting for Obama--also too inexperienced for the job (even though John McCain warned everybody.)

Jones said he will check on all those Washington benefits that common citizens don't have a chance on getting. He says that he will accept the benefits so that he can study them, adjusting them as needed while he is in office.

Dr. Jones says that he will not interfere in government but will be more like Ike, doing a lot of fishing and perhaps an occasional game of golf. He will live in the "Western White House" in Buhl, Idaho.

Jones says that he will accept donations but promise not to spend them, instead using them to fatten his retirement like all the other politicians. With the name of John Jones, his name will be on the tip of every tongue, so he says.

Jones' slogan sounds similar to Ike's slogan. The Jones for President slogan is, "I have been to Korea!"

End of Press Release

I've got to get out of here to look for my birth certificate. Then I have to get out on the lawn digging up dandelions to get a little green on my knees. Now when you are out my way in Idaho, make sure you drop by!
