I believe I have being way to serious with my articles. That is why I decided to put some humor into my writing, and let you in on a few foolish anecdotes of mine. One of the most difficult things for me has being getting use to the weather here in WA State. I was born in a hot climate, and I remember I use to warm up my feet with the hair dryer.
I also wore several pieces of clothing at once to keep warm. I stood very close to the fireplace to warm up my hands and feet. All of this things may sound silly to others but I often think of those who can't do this or other things for one reason or another.
Anecdotes
When I came to USA I learned lots of things I never knew. One day my husband and co-worker sent me to order lunch and soda pop at a fast food Restaurant. I went up to the counter without knowing they will ask me what type of "Fountain drink" I wanted.
Well, what is a fountain drink? I asked myself, I held up the line behind me when I searched for an answer in my head. Then I thought to my self, I never heard of a fountain spitting out drinks for people.
Luckily the person taking my order was clever and sensitive enough to realise that there was two funny guys behind this charade making fun of the newbie. She then told me that I needed to order soda drinks, God bless her she was wonderful!
I can also picture myself working at the bulb farm. Tending to customers and making floral arrangements. One day I needed to aspirate an area and was given this very powerful aspirator which have such strong sucking power an airplane might end up inside there.
Needless to say I ended up sucking away a table filled with potted plants. I was lucky enough to recover 80 percent of them with no damage, and my boss discovered the ordeal after all had passed and no more than a few petals were missing.
Last season I got sprayed by a skunk, that morning I went to pick up some eggs, and did not notice that a skunk was near by. It was early I was not fully awake, all I remember is seeing the skunk turn around and lift its tail, by then it was too late, one week later I was able to rid of the skunk odor from my hair.
I have several stories like these but I would need much more than one afternoon and four hundred words to explain them all to you guys. I sure wish the ones on this article brought a smile to your face. Some light reading is always a great way to end the day.
I have some experience with those darned striped kitties. The formula is simple, 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap, 1 box of baking soda and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. These all get mixed together and in my case, rubbed into the dog's fur. Works for humans too. Anything is better than that smell. We had one K9 handler at a search (over by Syracuse) get his dog skunked while out on search. He had to drive all the way back to Buffalo (about 150 miles) with that dog in the car. When he pulled up to the toll booth on the expressway, the tender just waved him through.
OMG, wow that most beeing horrble for the k9 handler. Your formula is great, I wrote it down for future encounters with Le piu! Thanks
Thanks yes I will I have lots of this silly stories
Skunked. Yuck! I've been fortunate to notice in time. Up til now anyhow! Thanks for sharing. blessings, Cynthia
Yes Miss Leighton it was horrible, I could not work because of the smell and lost w weeks of work because of it. But it was pretty funny too.
Did you soak in a tomato juice bath? Supposedly you can bury yourself other than your nose:-) and be done faster.
yes I did tomatoes for a week and milk + mineral water and a few drops of clorox for a week.
Skunked....that must have been horrible...things that happen in our everyday lives are often my humorous than things made up....enjoyed the article Jessy
Thank you Mister Strike, yes and it helps that I live in rural area...gigles.
How true your last statement. I have done quite a few of this type article, does it not make you feel happy when you are finished and it is published. I enjoyed every portion of the article, dont be scared to write more than 400 words, some of us are just getting to enjoy the penning and you stop.
Thank you Mister Ainslie, I will write a longer article next time :)
