Many people, especially those on these quick diets, unknowingly make the mistake of turning off their fat burner and as a result, weight loss efforts go for naught. If you want to lose weight and decide to go on a diet you must understand that it is necessary to keep your fat burner turned on. Fat burning is controlled by hormones. When these hormones are functioning effectively they send messages to the brain which in turn tells the body what to do with fat.
Unfortunately or fortunately, when we diet, the hormones that control fat burning tell the brain to store fat because the body is experiencing a food crisis. Obviously, this action totally contravenes the main goals of dieting. When we subscribe to a diet plan it is primarily because we wish to lose weight by getting rid of excess fat. But ironically, the body’s natural response to dieting is fat storage. As a result many people who diet fail to lose or in some cases may even gain weight.
So, how do we overcome this weight loss hurdle? Well in short, the answer is we must make weight loss hormones work for us. First we must understand that a starvation weight loss program is not wise. Obviously, it is unhealthy as it will expose the body to any number of health risks and secondly, the body’s fat burning hormones will cause the body to store rather than burn fat. This means that in order for a weight loss program to be successful it must ensure that the fat burning hormones works to our advantage.
It was recently discovered that leptin is the master fat burning hormone, it controls when the body burns or stores fat and has also been shown to be effective in suppressing appetite. Unfortunately, when we diet the level of leptin in our body declines and its ability to control fat burning is severely diminished. To ensure the efficacy of your diet plan you must maintain appropriate leptin levels. This is most easily done by eating small low calorie meals frequently throughout the day or in some cases through the use of certain supplements.
Supplements containing irvingia gabonensis and oleanolic acid have shown some promise in helping to sustain leptin levels in combination with certain diet plans. But if you are contemplating including supplements as a part of your daily diet routine you should consult with your personal doctor for a full discussion. Natural supplements are showing great promise in remedying many common health problems when taken sensibly and under proper conditions.
