Treatment for Chronic Illnesses Could Have Worldwide Impact

It is estimated that more than half of the world’s population is afflicted with some form of chronic illness and hypertension and diabetes are among the leading culprits. In fact at this very moment, healthcare and other invested professionals are busy trying to remedy these ailments with both traditional and non-traditional therapies. However, given the many negative side effects associated with some conventional medical treatments many people are seeking more natural treatments to remedy their illnesses.

Among the natural treatments that are receiving significant interest are diet, lifestyle and various kinds of herbal remedies. Even some treatments that are thousands of years old such as those out of China are attracting increased attention. Recently, proponents of natural medicine have been touting the efficacy of supper fruits as natural treatments for many chronic ailments. Of great note are the Aronia and Blue berries from North America and other regions, the Goji berry from Asia and in particular China, and Maqui berry from South America.

These super berries, as they are called, have been found to be rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and a bioactive substance known as anthocyanin. Recent findings have shown that when one or more of these super fruits are ingested regularly the incidence of chronic ailments like hypertension and diabetes is significantly reduced. In fact, it has been postulated that one of the reasons certain regions of the world are free from many of the chronic illnesses that afflict western societies is related to their regular consumption of these super fruits. As a result, large numbers of doctors are now recommending that patients include servings of super berries as staple parts of their diet.

Given the level of success experienced so far with these super fruits in combating common illnesses, countries and world health organizations should take a closer look at how to incorporate the consumption of these fruits as a part of their preventative strategies against diseases like hypertension and diabetes. It could be envisioned that in the long run consuming super fruits may have effects similar to vaccines and may serve to eliminate or at least reduce the incidence of various chronic ailments. Imagine how much better it would be if regular consumption these super fruits could cut the rate of hypertension or diabetes in half. People all around the world would be able to enjoy a better quality of life and the cost of healthcare overall will be substantially reduced.
