What Are The Symptoms For High Blood Pressure?

What Are The Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure?

What are the symptoms of high blood pressure is a natural question especially if you think you might be affected by it. After all, with most diseases, there are some tell-tell signs or some very obvious ones to make you. This is not the case with high blood pressure. The scary part about high blood pressure is that, aware that something is wrong. Well, bluntly put more often than not high blood pressure can cause no symptoms. You can have it and not even know you have it until you develop a serious health problem or you get it routinely checked because of another illness.

What Do Blood Pressure Numbers Mean?

Everyone has blood pressure; it can go up and down regularly during the course of the day. Your heart pumps blood throughout your body through a system of arteries.

Each time your heart pumps, it sends out a new wave of blood, and you pressure goes up. This is you systolic blood pressure. Between beats, your heart briefly relaxes and the pressure subsides. This is your diastolic blood pressure.

When your blood pressure is read, you are given two numbers, one over the other (your systolic over your diastolic) measured in millimeters of mercury, or mm Hg.For normal blood pressure, the top number can range between 90 and 120 and the bottom one can range 50 and 90 mm Hg.

What High Blood Pressure Does To The Body?

High blood pressure quietly sneaks around your body causing damage here and wreaking havoc there. Your heart, brain, kidneys, eyes and other organs depend on a reliable flow of blood circulating through your delicate transport system.

When you develop chronic high blood pressure, or hypertension, trouble follows:

  • It can cause strain on your heart that the organ fails from working too hard. It can make arteries in your brain rupture or develop blockages, potentially leaving you disabled.
  • It can hurt your kidneys so badly that you can need a dialysis machine
  • It can hurt your eyes so much that you become blind.

So while high blood pressure works quietly, as I have just mentioned, it effects can be deadly and it is for this reason that it is labeled the silent killer.High blood pressure is an indication a cardiovascular system that’s about to that is not working properly..

What are High Blood Pressure Causes?

The truth is, in most cases doctors do not know the exact cause of high blood pressure. But they will definitely tell you about preventable lifestyle factors that increase your risk of this potentially deadly condition;

Risk factors that you have control over -

  • Being overweight
  • Excessive alcohol use
  • A diet that provides too much salt or too little potassium
  • Smoking
  • Chronic stress
  • Taking certain medications

Other risk factors that can’t be changed:

  • Your age – hypertension is more common in middle age
  • Your race – it is more common in those of African origin than Caucasians
  • Family history of high blood pressure

How To Cure High Blood Pressure Naturally

It is well documented that weight loss lowers blood pressure and the good news is; you don’t have to get to your perfect weight before your pressure starts dropping. Just a few pounds will make enough of a difference that you can stop taking hypertension medication.

However, you should not change your medication or take natural herbal remedy for hypertension without consulting or at the very least letting your doctors know.
