My bathroom is in great need of an upgrade and I found myself looking at pictures of fancy bathrooms and some of them looked to be way beyond my budget. So I took a deep breath and sighed and told myself I will put it on my wish list. Do you ever feel like that?
A picture can influence each of us in different ways and this freestanding shower curtain immersed me into the depths of my imagination. With the bright flowered design against the orange wall, wow, this is just beautiful and it was hand made by Amanda Brown.
This color scheme makes me feel like I am close to the beach and that summer is in the air. I grew up in Southern California and spent many summers riding the bus to the beaches in Carlsbad. I did not swim a lot in the ocean for I feared the jelly fish but I got some awesome tans and hung out with my friends.
Oh and I must tell you, I am not a seamstress, although I can hem the occasional pair of pants and patch a hole in a sock but this is all done by hand. One day I will learn my way around a sewing machine. But until then I will explore options that I know I can do.
My thoughts of creativity from this picture is that I could start by painting the walls and getting a new shower curtain which for the standard shower rod, you can find some really cool designs at your local department or hardware stores.
There are also really adorable towel racks or hooks that could compliment this. Such as the flip flop sandals or the surfboard towel hooks or even both. Throw in some creative looking rugs and you have a new look!
To change the look of your bathroom can really be very simple and inexpensive. Each color creates a different atmosphere and I have found that the color of orange can stimulate creativity and can overpower any depressed or lonely feelings to bring out your joy and increase your well-being. Although on the opposite side of the spectrum, some say that this color could increase your appetite; this could be good or bad depending on the individual.
How does the color orange make you feel? As I watched the sunset tonight I am reminded of a quote by John Ruskin, “The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.” Embrace life and color your world!
