The Asian culture has been very influential on the American way of life. Of course there is the biggest influence which is in food, but the culture has also influenced our sense of style. Asian inspired interior design is widely used. In many homes there is at least one element of asian home decor. It may be a futon as a spare bed or a shoji screen used as a room divider. Many lanterns get their shape and lines form that of asian lanterns. Asian style interior design allows for a minimalist, crisp, and clean design. It can be used to totally decorate a room or just as an influence on a room.
If you settle on Asian style design after carefully considering all home interior design ideas you will have chosen a fairly easy style to incorporate. Many department and hobby stores cary some sort of Asian home decor. So it wouldn't be too difficult to decorate. Its important to note that "Asian" in the design realm typically refers to that of Far East Asia, also called Oriental. Normally Indian, Middle Eastern, and Tropical Asian influences are classified by themselves. Customarily Asian interior design ideas include inspiration from places like China, Japan, or even Korea.
To decorate a room using home interior design ideas of an Asian persuasion (It rhymes!) one would incorporate some of the types of furniture. You can find Asian inspired cabinets, beds, and end tables. Furniture made form bamboo is crisp clean and leans toward Asian influence in a subtle way. Also any furniture that sits low to the ground or has what is known as a low profile is considered Asian. In addition to these, rosewood furniture may be used. Most rosewood furniture is Asian furniture. Furniture continuously sets the tone for a room so you want to decide how much Asian influence you want based on it. Bamboo and low profile furniture a little more mainstream than rosewood furniture.
When considering what decor to finish off the room with we would again consider how much influence we want this room to have. Then we would choose asian home decor accordingly. As I mentioned earlier Asian inspired home interior design ideas are pretty easy to come by. We would definitely have more trouble with the furniture than the other decor. Paper lanterns, chinese porcelain, tatami mats, shoji screens, and traditional futons are all asian home decor mainstays. Also one could go a little less traditional by simply incorporating Asian calligraphy and modern lanterns made of glass. You could even go more organic and include sticks of bamboo or living bonsai trees.
Home interior design ideas that incorporate Asian influence are some of my favorite. It can give an exotic look to a room while still allowing for clean lines and a crisp look. Of course its still all in how well the room is designed. There are all sorts of great Asian inspired designs one need only to look online for some inspiration.

You're so right! Asian design is now just as American as apple pie! I personally love the simplicity of the design. Great article :)
