For years we have considered black to be a colour of elegance – we have black tie affairs, black limousines to chauffer VIPs around, black lace underwear and now black crystal chandeliers. Yes even the colour of your light fittings says something about your taste.
Let's face it today's architecture is bland compared to that of centuries ago. No longer can we afford the opulence of the old upper classes that had money to burn and servants at their disposal. In many cases these servants were dispensable!
Things have become more expensive (these days everyone earns a wage!) and more accessible to the masses and so our styles have altered to suit.
The result is limited (usually by the size of our budget) flair. In many cases our homes are built by companies, developers or the like, with a view to a quick sale. Fittings are practical (sometimes expensive – more often cheap) but lack the opulence of past charm.
Enter crystal chandeliers and particularly black crystal chandeliers or wall sconces which light up a room even when not illuminated.
Black crystal chandeliers come in unlimited shapes and sizes. Using a modern black crystal chandelier is an inexpensive (or expensive if you so choose) way to dress an otherwise dull room, changing it from the boring everyday dull to a dazzling modern look.
Matt black finishes on black crystal chandeliers brighten any neutral colours and will lift your home to make a statement like no other.
Think of James Bond looking resplendent in his tuxedo with a beautiful woman on his arm. The tuxedo looks good and the woman is gorgeous but it is the diamond studded necklace around her neck that sets them apart from the rest. Get the picture?
The black is smart and sophisticated - the crystal screams wealth and class!
Chandeliers are no longer limited to the dining or ball room and are now being used by interior decorators to enhance any room. A black crystal chandelier in the bedroom, either as a centre piece or mini-chandeliers above the nightstand, creates a very romantic mood.
Are you paying attention men?
Black is a colour that goes with anything so the effect of a black crystal chandelier will not diminish should you decide to change the rest of the room's colours or style.
The selection of chandeliers is huge and all shapes and sizes can be found to suit any sized room. And there is no room that is considered unsuitable.
A black crystal chandelier can enhance any room in a subtle way. The black crystal chandelier that is unobtrusive, but leaves your guest wondering just what it is that sets your home apart from others, is the chandelier I particularly like
