Working at home can be a heck of a lot more enjoyable when you actually like the space that you have to work in.
While most home offices are drab and “cornerish” there are ways to add some life to your workspace, no matter how small it is. Try incorporating some of these office interior design ideas the next time you roll your eyes at your desk A.K.A . the kitchen table!
Start with Paint
Nothing says “Please give me a razor for my wrists” like a drab, depressing color on your office walls. It’s bad enough that you have to work in the first place (damn that Adam and Eve) but don’t make it worse with your paint colors.
Adding a new coat of paint will not only give you a fresh, new perspective about your work space, it will also save you a few trips to the physiatrist. This is one of the easiest office interior design ideas to incorporate.
Personalize the Entire Area
There’s nothing wrong with adding pictures of your family to the desk, but why stop there?
That crazy picture of your friend throwing up on New Years Eve is one of your favorites. Print it out and put it somewhere where you will always see it.
Personalizing your space will bring happy feelings to mind while you’re working. Pictures, quotes, accessories and other items that mean the world to you should always be within eyesight.
Organize
This is one of those office interior design ideas that most people tend to forget.
Now, just because you have personal items in your work space doesn’t mean that they have to be thrown all over Gods creation. Have some type of organization to your design.
The office supply stores carry a variety of accessories that you can use to put things away, and many of them look cool. And remember, you can always personalize the storage accessories as well.
Get a Real Desk, Please!
You’re a professional. You need a real desk to work on. If you don’t have a lot to work with, try going to the thrift stores or to a garage sale. You will not only feel more professional, but you can get out of the kitchen and let the kids have a space to eat and feed the dogs their vegetables!
Make Sure You’re Comfortable
Your chair needs to have some cushion. Invest in something that you won’t mind sitting on for hours on end. Working will be hell if your chair feels more like a park bench.
Unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, chances are, you will have to work.
And if you’re lucky enough to have a home office, you should be smart enough to learn to make it the best workspace ever. These are just a few office interior design ideas. Use them and see how much happier you’ll be “at work”!
Nice! Thanks for good suggestions for work space office interior design ideas.
I am an extremely tidy desk person but I also like the personal touch as you point out, some flowers a photo and a few quote are all part of my personal workspace. But I also have a Buddha, candles and a few crystals as well. They ad a nice touch of energy
Thanks for reading Gayle! I would like to try the crystals. I bet they look nice :)
I like the tortoise idea! I may have to try that :) Thanks for reading!
