Click Through Rate Vs Conversion Rate on Street Articles

Lately, I’ve been seeing many people ask the question “How do I raise my CTR rates on SA”. Well, I’ve decided to help answer that by covering over the click through rate vs conversion rate on Street Articles and how it works. There are a few suggestions I have on how to increase your CTR rates, how it works, and what you don’t realize.

My Formula for Click through Rate, Increasing CTR

The formula for click through rate involves different points to know for increasing your CTR. Some of these points I suggest for increasing your CTR are creating bigger links, being open to linking more than 1 destination, not going overboard with your links, making your links attractive, and writing unique content people will be interested in.

  1. Using bigger links in your articles is important because it helps many people actually see the link. If you haven’t noticed, Street Articles doesn’t bold or highlight there links (for quality content purposes), so having a bigger link will help. For example, an elderly person with poor eyesight might look up your article on Google, and if your link is attached to the phrase “me”, there is a high possibility the elderly person will not see the link in your article.
  2. Being open to linking to more than 1 destination is always helpful because when people see a variety of different content within your article, they’ll be more willing to click on what you have to say. What appeases you more: a cake with just the vanilla base or a cake with the vanilla base with topped icing, yummy ice cream on the side, and added sprinkles with a little raspberry on top?
  3. Not going overboard with your links is important because nobody wants to visit a website that has side by side links on an article to the same destination. Yes, this can even be applied to small 400 – 799 worded articles. But say for example you had 3 small links side by side with the same words inside each one. Would you want to visit it? It looks like another scam trying to get me to click or buy something…
  4. Making your links attractive is another big thing. If you use fancy words instead of normal common words, you might find this will often increase your CTR greatly while keeping in mind that SA normally doesn’t like adjectives within the links. An example might be “moving the cows” across farmland as your link. Well, a more fancy way of linking could involve “The cows rocket to space” through a wind tunnel. You KNOW you’d want to click on that instead to check it out. There are even other types of ways for making your links look fancy.
  5. Writing unique content that people will be interested in is probably the biggest thing that will increase your CTR rates. If you don’t have unique and interesting content to begin with, it’s honestly pointless to even be thinking about links because you’ve failed step 1. You need to 1st write something that your reader will be interested in, like a fish looking at that yummy worm, and then you need to hook the fish when you pull out that link. As for how big or small the fish is, all we can do is cross our fingers.

How Does Click Through Rate Work?

For how does click through rate work, there’s a few things to know. This involves mainly who your audience is in respects to what your niche is about. Say you’re trying to target a group of 30 year old men and your niche is about pro-active measures for staying healthy. Well, you have to relate to 30 year old men on a personal level, and you have to keep in mind the variety of cultures all over the world since this will be read by 30 year old men all over the world. Having a frame of mind that works toward a global economy will only help you greatly, unless you’re niche is specifically about a certain culture or location.

Now if you’re targeting an older audience instead, you’ll need to relate to their train of thought. Ways of doing this are by using examples of events and places that existed when they were a kid growing up. This entices them and gets them interested in what you’re talking about. This also brings me back to my formula for click through rate. Since these people are older, there is a possibility that they won’t see the link as well, so creating bigger links will help ensure they actually see the link and then hook the fish.

What you don't realize with your CTR

What you don’t realize with your CTR's is that your Street Articles profile plays a pivotal role in your CTR rates. It’s possible that many people will read your articles and become interested in your profile instead. This is if you have an INTERESTING profile picture that they will like and want to click on. Then when people click on your profile instead, this isn’t shown as a CTR rate, but instead as a profile view result on your dashboard.

So because of this, I’ve always encouraged people to create a unique and attractive profile that will encourage your viewers to click on or visit your websites. An example could be explaining what your websites are about, your expertise or passions about it, and why it will help them. Then another thing you can do is make pictures that people will find interesting. If you put up a picture of nothing but whiteness (yes, lol…I saw 1 person who did this on SA), this won’t attract visitors to your profile.

My Advice to You

Even though many people might say you can write up an article in as little as 20 minutes and how much money they are making without putting in any work, don’t listen to these turkeys telling you that. I can tell you from experience that I’ve spent 1-2 hours on some of my greater articles that currently receive over 5% CTR (+ Street Article Author views) and is ranked on MULTIPLE keywords on the 1st and 2nd pages of Google’s search engines.

Don’t make the mistake of writing as many articles as fast as you can. I did that when I started out, I wrote around 50 articles, and later realized they were all crap. So I saved them all on a massive Word document and deleted every one of them (besides 3). Now, I can confidently say all of my current articles are worthy because of the TIME and EFFORT I put into them. Even if it takes you 4 hours to write your 1st article, DO IT! Writing 50 crappy articles like I did when I started out will get you nowhere. But writing 1 great article will help you a lot in the long run. This, in effect, plays a pivotal role in your CTR rates on Street Articles.

A great quote to go by for helping you with this is one by Albert Einstein. The quote says "try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."

How to rank high on Google, SEO

With all of this said, it’s important to know about how to rank high on Google, SEO, and other related things to help you. This involves:

Thanks Kevin! :) And yes, many people don't realize how important there Street Articles profile is. I actually use my SA profile a lot when commenting on other people's blogs among other things due to how it shows 3 different links to my websites and all my articles as opposed to just 1 website.

I'm new at this Seth. What do you consider to be a good click through rate?

Reply

I'd say 5% or higher is a good click through ratio. Keep in mind that each click from SA is serious traffic. Your website is the most important thing however, and this should be taken with a grain assault. :)

Yep.. it's possible to put a small 400 worded article in 30 to 40 minutes after quickly reviewing over it unless you did some fast paced writings. The great articles with 1200 to 1600 words or more though are going to take you at least 1 hour.. If you're picky about the picture like I am, that also plays into how much time you spend. It normally takes me 5 to 10 minutes to fix up the picture.

Some good stuff in there Seth, I'd like to add that 50 not so perfect short articles will get you 100 GREAT BACK LINKS... to your website/s, that's not nowhere. For the niche I'm working now...it's laughable that any click through at SA is valid...and if it is... thats the icing for me. That being said, the single largest issue with article CTR..imo, is BUILDING A DESIRE in your reader....I suppose you could kind of trick them into clicking curious links but you probably won't convert them right?...

lol, I get where you're coming from. I think the key is to continually write great articles that build up over time. Then when you have say 100 different GREAT articles working for you on 1 website, your sales roll in over time for your website. It's like Kyle wrote in 1 of his recent articles, it takes good old fashioned hard work. There is no trick to making instant fast cash online, even though some people advertise scammy products that say so otherwise (to get you to buy and waste more money). Then keep in mind there are other ways of generating traffic like videos, Facebook, Warrior Forum, and all that stuff. Thanks for the comment and good luck. :)

Man, I thought that I was the only one experienceing low CTR, I felt like it must be my writing! Once I implement your tips, I'm sure i'll see some improvement with my CTR. Thank you.

Glad I could help Christian. The important thing to know is that it's all in the content. Don't be scared to write up 800, 1200, or even 1600 worded articles because you actually have the ability to rank on even more keywords through h2 tags with those articles. Try to treat every article you write like its one of the most important things you will ever do.

Thank you Seth. By reading this article it helped me understand more about CTR and how to increase it. More importantly I have a better understanding of how it works and I am saving this article as reference to CTR. On most of my articles, my view were high but my CTR barely increased one number.

To be honest with you, I can relate. I've had low CTR on a lot of my articles. Only about 1/4 of my current articles actually have 5% CTR rates. The 1st half articles I wrote were ok keywords, but they ended up not getting ranked in Google, then I started realizing how to rank on Multiple keywords and on keywords that'd actually rank well in the search engines. I think the audience you're going after and how you have your links and content setup depends on what your CTR rates will be. Another thing to be honest with you on is how most people on Street Articles is doing it wrong. I'm just scanning through the homepage of SA with all the new updated articles...and I'm thinking to myself "these people really think they're going to get anything from this?". It's like Albert Einstein once said, "try not to become a man of success, but a man of value". Once you do that, then you will see results.

Great tips here Seth! I agree with taking more time to write the article. I've read most of your works and I really appreciate the research you are doing. Content is always the main tool aside from those other tips you mentioned.

Reply

Yes. Without great content, you really have no business to even begin thinking about your CTR rates, how your links are placed, and more things. Many people think they can get by with just using what they already know without researching it, slopping it down on a Word Document, randomly adding a couple links, and think they'll make buckoos of money from it. Not going to happen...
