Expert Advice for the Expert Street Articles Author

If you’re new to SA, it’s recommendable to first read my other article called How to Rank High with Street Articles, Fully Explained. Expert Advice for the Expert Street Articles Author is for the expert author who has become good at leveraging SA effectively and wishes to expand on that a little. Yes, I could have possibly sold this information for a small price, but hey, what can I say? I happen to be a nice guy. With that said, if you’re somebody who’s very good at leveraging SA to its max, I’d like to tell you a few ways of using it even more effectively with some advanced methods alongside you continually publishing highly unique content.

Expert Advice for the Expert Street Articles Author includes using the meta description effectively, targeting multiple keywords in just your article title, using (h1, h2, and h3) tags effectively, ways of finding (newly) stacked and promising keywords in Google, making your links stand out, using your SA profile effectively, how to use must have quotes or copied content in your articles, how and why you can get by without ranking in Google or other search engines, and using Google Authorship with your published content.

How do I use the Meta description effectively?

If you’re wondering to yourself “how do I use the Meta description effectively”, you can use the Meta description effectively by adding the main keyword or maybe even keywords you’re going after at the beginning of your sentence. By doing this, Google can determine the main keyword(s) you’re going after at the beginning of the sentence, which helps your optimization in Google and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo.

In doing this correctly, we must know the Google Meta description max length. The Google Meta description max length preferred amount is at 150 characters. You have plenty of room to add what keyword(s) you’re going after at the beginning of your article. This will let Google do what it needs to do for ranking your UNIQUELY published content even better.

Targeting multiple keywords in your title

Over time, you’ll eventually realize how easy it really is when it comes to targeting multiple keywords in your title. The simple plurality of a given word can allow for multiple keywords, such as adding s to the ending of a keyword you’re targeting. An example could be one of my other articles called Top Article Directories for SEO 2012. The keywords that define what I’m talking about are top article directories, top article directories for SEO, Top Article Directories for SEO 2012, article directories, article directories for SEO, and article directories for SEO 2012. If you were counting, that’s 6 relevant keywords just within the title!

There’s nothing wrong with adding a hyphen (-) or comma (,) within your article titles. Typically, you only want to use them to foretell information about what you’re talking about. Whatever this depicts can often just be added words to the ENDING of your title. The keywords you’re going after need to be at the BEGINNING of your title for maximum ranking power potential. Don’t let yourself get bemused by the small details.

How to use h1 and h2 tags effectively

There is seemingly an infinite amount of ways for how to use h1 and h2 tags effectively. Ways of targeting h2 tag powered keywords are italicizing, bolding, and underlining different keywords. This places emphasis on those keywords, in which Google picks up and notices. This tells Google’s scanner those keywords are important, and to rank those keywords in Google.

You should take heed that these are only h2 tag powered keywords. H1 tags are typically considered more powerful than h2 tags and will most likely rank better. As for the argument of which ranks higher depending on who has more social bookmarks, comments, and better unique content; that is up for argument. You would probably need to ask a Google employee such as Matt Cutts to better answer a question like that. This information is not really needed however and just constitutes the “little details” that don’t really matter.

Searching for the top keywords for Street Article publications

There are many ways of searching for the top keywords in Google and other smaller search engines. The most preferred and highly recommended way of doing so is by using Jaaxy or the Wealthy Affiliate keyword tools. Yes, they cost a little money, but these 2 keyword tool finders can SERIOUSLY help you get the keywords you need in a very fast and effective manner.

The Wealthy Affiliate keyword tool is great by itself and you can get by just with that if you’re not really up for getting the Jaaxy also. However, if you do decide to get Jaaxy, the Jaaxy keyword search tool has a search engine tool that very quickly searches for keywords; giving SEO competition, monthly traffic, and much more almost instantly. Not only that, but Jaaxy also comes with a niche finder for helping you learn how to find profitable niches that work for you. If you read any of the Jaaxy keyword tool reviews, you’ll understand more of what I’m talking about.

What happens when you’re manually searching keywords instead?

Now if you’re somebody manually searching keywords, especially in the case for newly searched keywords; by putting quotes around keywords, Google will only show results with content on that exact phrase or keywords rather than relevant information. Manually searching keywords can still help you to a certain degree with figuring out a certain keywords competition in respects to seeing it for yourself and finding newly developed keywords people are starting to type in. This does take experience however and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Sometimes, you don’t even need to go off manually searching keywords. You can often just use your own common sense and use keywords and phrases you think people will search (or relate to in the case of not caring to rank in Google, in which I will explain later in this article). Creativity, wisdom, knowledge, and uniqueness can really play a role when it comes to times like these.

How to Make Your Links Stand Out and Look Good

When you’re trying to link, it’s important that you do it in a way that your readers can be able to see and find it attractive enough to click on. One way of doing this is by linking to as many words as possible, preferably 3 to 5 words. The bigger your words are, the better it will be. A good example of a 5 worded phrase to a random website is “Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis is like Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism, Hippopotomonstrosesquippediliophobia, and other long worded terms not mentioned”. When you're trying to link next time in your article, think hippopotamus. But at the same time, try not to squash your target when trying to capture it. ;)

Making your link attractive is another big thing. Putting your links side by side especially to the same destination almost always looks crappy. This will immediately throw up a red flag in a reader’s mind, causing a loss in traffic to your website. Just 1 (very big) link can often be better than 3, 4, or 5 crappy looking links that are side by side. It’s all about engaging your audience and creating friendly user content.

Using Your Street Articles Profile Effectively

Your Street Articles profile is probably more important than most people realize. If you notice to the left hand side of each article you publish, there is a picture of you with other information. Many people who visit your articles click on this profile of yours and are redirected to your profile information, rather than clicking on one of your links on your article. This is why it’s important to have information about your websites and engage your readers effectively in this way. If you see my profile, you'll notice I have information about myself and websites I have.

You can even link to your Street Articles profile within your article body. Say you’ve already linked to your website and you have the ability to give information about yourself. As long as you have at least 250 words on your Street Articles profile, you can simply just link to your Street Articles profile, redirecting your traffic to see all of your listed websites and information.

Using Quotes and Copied Content

When dealing with quotes and copied content on the web, there’s a couple things you can do. The first thing you can do is simply just put it in your article as is. If it’s a very small quote or phrase, it won’t really matter. The only time it really matters is when you have around 40 words or more copied content within your article. The other way I mostly recommend in dealing with quotes or copied content from the web is by putting them in your picture. You can edit all kinds of pictures at places like Picasa 3, Picnik, and many others. If you’re trying to convert an image, you can go to converthub and change a picture format for free 2 times every day.

How to Get By Without Ranking in Google or other Search Engines

There are actually many different ways you can get traffic to your published articles without having it ranked on Google or other smaller search engines like Yahoo or Bing. Ways of doing this are by submitting to different directories on the web or by word of mouth. 2 good examples are submitting your content to Facebook fan pages or company websites.

Effectively Using Google Authorship

If you don’t know how Google Authorship works or your one of those people trying to figure out to yourself “why is my Google Authorship not working for me”, it’s understandable. For one, Google has been updating how this works quite a bit since it originally came out. It’s almost a little annoying keeping up with all there updates, and it should be dully noted that this is only an *extra thing to do* for your published content.

One thing you should be aware of when submitting your content is that another person’s Google + profile has the ability to show up by your published content if you haven’t linked to it already. When somebody Google +’s your content, they have the ability to show up by your content on the search engines. Carson did this recently to Kyle’s article over Charlie Sheen Sayings. Carson’s picture shows up by Kyle’s published content in the Google search engines, even though he’s not the one that wrote it. You can find a lot of information about how Google Authorship works at the Author information in search results under Google Webmaster Tools if you want to use this with your published content.

Conclusion

My other article over ranking high with SA also has a lot of information about effectively using SA and ranking high in Google. With that said, I think we all need to keep in mind that writing engaging content with the reader in mind is by far the most important thing we as writers can do. Even doing everything listed earlier won’t do you any good without the element of engaging your audience.

Street Talk

Hey Seth thanks for the great info learned a lot. Have just released my latest article "learn how to fly fish" maybe you could scan your eye over it to see if I'm on the right path. I know from your articles I don't have enough keyword density but that may not hinder it too much. Need to socialize it a bit more. Am a member of the Facebook group so will pop it up there. Article has moved up to 414 in a day on here. The keyword had a rating of 374 QSR on Jaaxy. Know I have a bit of work to do on it as Fishing is so densely sited for its hard to find unused keywords. Any hits tips would be appreciated.

Hey Mark, I think your article is great. It has a lot more potential though. You could rank on the 1st page of Google at least 6 times if you did what you needed to do (not including jumbling up keywords for a certain phrase you're ranked on). Here's what I suggest you do: - Put "Learn How To Fly Fish" at the beginning of your 1st paragraph (don't start out with it - even though SA won't allow you to do that anyway) & see how much better your article ranks. You could also do more stuff with the h2 tags, but I suggest experimenting with just ranking the title for now. I'll pm you if you want to know more about h2 tags. Good luck.

Thanks Steve and yes. Some of what I covered is sort of common sense but many people don't realize there CTR rates are actually effected a little by there profile account. A lot of people would rather just click on your profile rather than the link on your article.

Thanks for the tips Seth! I have a question though, how much ctr would you consider to be a good target, is 10% good?

Reply

To be honest with you, CTR doesn't really matter a whole lot given some people stray to your Street Articles profile. Normally, when people click on your link from articles like this, they are seriously interested in what you have to talk about. I'd say a good goal for your CTR is 5% or higher though. Some of my top articles have over 10% CTR.

I still have a problem with my linking and thus have low ctr. I will try thinking hippo. I hope to overcome this soon, coz it idiscourages me from writing. Thanks though

Hey Josh, you have to keep in mind that many people will click on your Street Articles profile instead, effecting your overall ctr rates (minus how many times you clicked on them). This is why it's important to have a good profile with your main websites listed. Thinking hippo is good because obviously the bigger the link, the more people will want to click on it. :) Many people have trouble seeing and that can also play into affect. I probably made my link in there a bit too big, but I just wanted to emphasize how you can benefit from a long link as opposed to a very short 1 worded type of link.
