Social media is the in thing in the 21st century. People have always wanted to be able to stay in touch with their loved ones and with the Internet age upon us, which has become easy and instantaneous. Except for some places such as the fact of the social networking site Facebook blocked in Vietnam
Why would a country ban Facebook?
Vietnam isn’t the only place that has either restricted or blocked various Internet sites from their citizens. China too has blocked not only Facebook, but Twitter and a few others as well. Add to the list places like Korea, Saudi Arabia, and several others and you will see that it is somewhat scary that so many placed fear the open communication and that’s why Facebook blocked in Vietnam, so the people can’t learn new things or be free with their communication worldwide.
The Vietnam government admitted that it banned Facebook because of the potential for anti-governmental speech. They also have blocked blogging sites and a few others like Twitter, etc. However, the peoples of Vietnam haven’t taken kindly to losing access with their friends and having Facebook blocked in Vietnam.

Thanks to the Internet, the Earth is a much smaller place. Technology has made almost every bit of news good or bad instantly spread all over the globe. It’s a common thing for people to want to be in the know, and with Facebook blocked in Vietnam, that only makes its people want it more.

Vietnam fans of Facebook didn’t let the ban stop them in their endeavors to get online and communicate with their Facebook friends. First, they were able to do things like use proxies or change their DNS settings. But after several months, these things were caught by the government and once again, with Facebook blocked in Vietnam, the geeks there had to find another way. Now, there is yet another way to get your fill of Facebook if you are in Vietnam, or any other place that Facebook is blocked or banned. It’s called a virtual private network or VPN. A VPN is a private network in another country that has servers that they use to reroute their customers Internet services through that server, so they can’t be blocked. All in all, with Facebook blocked in Vietnam, its users will have to choose a VPN provider and sign up so they can use it. A VPN can be use on many devices and operating systems including iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux.
