How Can I Prepare For 2012?: Basics
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

How can I prepare for 2012? There are many ways. When the phrase comes up most people think, as people always will, of money. They think money will simply answer all their problems. Naiveté in its most extreme form. Has anyone considered hyperinflation? Has anyone thought that food and other necessities may no longer be available for purchase? That currency may no longer be in existence and a barter system may be the future status quo? Evidently not. But there is a much more comprehensive preparation plan for 2012 than simply ignoring what is going on around you and focusing on profit instead of items that may prove truly important in 2012. Heed the advice or you will be bitterly disappointed when you find that your year’s hard work is worth nothing and the money will be literally worth less than toilet paper.

Needless to say, the first and most important thing you need is food. Signs that a global food crisis is on the way have been increasing in the last few months# According to the World Bank, the global price of food has risen 36% over the past 12 months. The commodity price of wheat has approximately doubled since last summer. The commodity price of corn has also about doubled since last summer. The commodity price of soybeans is up about 50% since last June.

The commodity price of orange juice has doubled since 2009. There are about 3 billion people around the globe that live on the equivalent of 2 dollars a day or less and the world was already on the verge of economic disaster before this year even began.2011 has already been one of the craziest years since World War 2. Revolutions have swept across the Middle East, the United States has gotten involved in the civil war in Libya, Europe is on the verge of a financial meltdown and the U.S. dollar is dying. None of this is good news for global food production. To make it short, get yourself a year’s supply of food NOW. Not when it gets too bad to do anything about it.

There are also a number of things you can do to prepare for 2012. Get a supply of gold. Nothing too crazy, a modest supply will increase massively in value if things get really bad. Hedge your bets and it’s a win-win. A gun is always handy in case of extreme situations. Supplies such as potassium iodine, batteries, a gas mask, books, electrical generator, water filtration system, matches/lighters, candles, toiletries ( don’t dismiss this), warm clothes, food seeds and radio communication system are very important and a necessity learning how to prepare for 2012

This covers the basics in a plan to prepare for 2012. There is obviously much more and if push comes to shove then there are obviously going to be some things missed. However the above represents far more than most people will have stockpiled. And when you buy, buy these in bulk. For further info click on the link: how can I prepare for 2012. Fail to prepare? Then prepare to starve.
