How to Rank High With Street Articles, Fully Explained

Hi everybody. It’s very possible that you’ve read my other published article called “How to Rank High with Street Articles” but I’m going to go into further detail, covering EVERYTHING you need to know for ranking on the 1st page of Google every time. As long as I’ve been an author here at SA, I’ve finally realized how to really get some serious traffic with Street Articles on Google. This will most likely be my 2nd and last sequel to ranking high with SA. Yes, I could’ve kept this knowledge all to myself or even sold it for a small price. But hey, what can I say? I happen to be a nice guy. Now let me explain.

If you keep up with the blog updates often, you might already know some of the information I’m about to tell you, which is great. Because if you are, you’ll be able to understand the specific points I lay out at that point in time. The major areas I want to discuss with you are effectively using a picture to show what you’re talking about, effectively using links on your article, using the Jaaxy or Wealthy Affiliate keyword tools, the importance of the h1 (most important) and h2 tags, backlinks, engaging your audience, the importance of your author profile, the importance of being short and sweet in your article body, the importance of socializing and Street Talk, other places to use alongside Street Articles, and how to ALWAYS rank on the 1st page of Google even on an impossible to rank h1 tag or title keyword.

Jaaxy and Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Tools

Unless you’ve been doing this for a while like me, and have the ability to simply look up a keyword manually and determine how much it’s being searched and its estimated level of competitiveness, you will need Jaaxy or the Wealthy Affiliate keyword tool. I’ve used both myself even with this knowledge due to how unbelievably fast it looks up these keywords. I know Jaaxy comes with other information like niche searching.

But when you look up a keyword related to what you’re talking about, you need to make sure it revolves around what you’re talking about in the first place, or the website/products you have. Once you have that figured out, you need to search for keywords that don’t have much competition, even if it’s as low as 100 searches a month. It only takes about 30 minutes to write up a simple little article.

Effectively Using a Picture

If you ever heard the old saying, a picture is worth a thousand words, that really does have a lot of truth in it. When somebody goes on your profile account and see no picture on your article with a bunch of words that will greatly increase their chances of exiting out and going somewhere else. If you know anything about the average user’s ability to stay on 1 page, it’s pretty horrible.

So because of that, it’s very important that you have a unique and intriguing picture that people can easily relate to and be able to say WOW in awe. This grabs there attention right off the bat and makes them interested in actually reading what you have to say. You can edit pictures using places like Picasa 3. If you ever come across a photo you can’t edit, such as a PNG image, you can go to converthub and change these types of images 2 times a day for free.

Effectively Using Links on your Article

You can either have 2, 3, 4, or 5 total links on your published articles (as of right now anyway). 2 is the minimum at 400 words, 3 requiring 800 words, 4 at 1200, and 5 at 1600. The different places you link too shouldn’t carry much weight on your article, as long as they DON’T connect to affiliate links or redirects.

I’m sure there’s a few of you turkey flips out there who have the brilliant idea of publishing an article with legal link, and then change that link while it’s published to a redirect on one of your affiliate links. Well, Street Articles has an algorithm that checks through all the links on SA to make sure nobody does this. Then if they catch you, they’re liable to just ban your account.

So rather than being a turkey flip, use your links in a smart way to catch the reader’s attention. Putting the most important link 1st is always a smart idea because the click through ratio on the 1st link in the article is normally higher than the 2nd link. Also, it’s not always about putting your link on your article as much as possible. Sometimes you’re reader might read your article and think badly of it if it has 3 links on it to the same destination or website. Would you want to visit a website that had an article with 3, 4, or 5 links side by side to the same website?

Then finally, you want to choose words that define what you’re talking about, but not exactly. For example, say you’re advertising Wealthy Affiliate. Good phrases you can link could be “learning to make money”, “how to make money online”, “making money online”, and “striving to success online”. These all define Wealthy Affiliate indirectly. Let me emphasize the word…indirectly…just 1 more time. I had a lot of trouble with linking correctly when I started out around 1 year ago and I can totally relate to any possible conflicts you might be having with this.

H1 and H2 Tags SEO Tips

H1 Tags

The h1 tag is the most important tag on your article. Better known as the title of your article, this is the main thing that will (normally) be used to get serious ranking in Google. What I suggest you do for your h1 tag is ONLY use the (main) keyword you are going after. Don’t add words to it and don’t take away words from it. Simply copy and paste it from your Jaaxy page, Word document, or whatever and paste it onto your title bar. Then make sure you put that keyword on your keyword bar (even though Google picks up on this whether you do or don’t. I know on one of my other articles, this happened anyway. These keywords, I believe, just immediately gives Google’s algorithm an idea of what to immediately scan for).

H2 Tags

As for the h2 tag, this can arguably be as important as the h1 tag to people who are experienced with publishing content. But for the title keyword you choose, it’s important that you have at least 1% keyword density to a max of 3% keyword density. As long as you are in between that range, it doesn’t matter what percentage you have. You can press Ctrl + F on Word document to check for keyword density. This is a very practical way of getting ranked in Google, and I highly suggest always trying to do this.

Now if you’re curious about how you can affectively use h2 tags to get ranked on more keywords (other than the h1 tag or title), let me tell you. In your article, you have the ability to bold, italicize, and underline your words. When you do that, you put more emphasis on those certain words, which tells Google’s algorithm they are more important. So for example; if your title is “I like Street Articles”, you might be thinking of ranking on another keyword called “Do you like Street Articles”.

You can accomplish this by putting emphasis on “Do you like Street Articles” in your article body, while attempting to hit the 1% keyword density or higher mark with “Do you like Street Articles”. But note that you don’t HAVE to hit 1% or higher marker. I’ve ranked on the 1st page of Google on keywords with less than 0.5% keyword density. It’s all about using your own wisdom and judgment in these types of situations, all while trying to engage your audience in a meaningful manner, rather than trying to stuff your article making it look like crap.

Find Backlinks on Google

I could easily go on forever when it comes to backlinks in the case of the Panda Update among many other things. But let me tell you 3 practical ways of leveraging backlinks affectively, whether or not they help you much with your published article.

  1. The first way you can affectively use backlinks is by linking your articles to other articles. You get either 2, 3, 4, or 5 links depending on how long your body is. You can always use at least 1 of these links to link to another article, and link to another article. However, I highly suggest ONLY linking articles that actually relate to each other, rather than interlinking random topics.
  2. The second thing you could do is use different sources other than Street Articles for back-linking. For example; you could use free platforms like Blogger, Wealthy Affiliate posts, Facebook fan pages, Youtube videos, and other article directories. Again, I highly suggest only linking content to other content that actually relate to each other, rather than being random content.
  3. The third and probably the most important thing in the case of generating backlinks are how it generates more traffic to what you link too. When somebody clicks on these links, they are redirected to other published content on the web creating more traffic to whatever that published content is.

These 2 different ways of back-linking will create a positive value or sign with Google’s algorithm. HOWEVER, I do not suggest spending much of your time doing this because you can easily waste a lot of time trying to do this. Trust me, I’ve done it. It’s really not worth the extra hassle.

Engaging Your Audience with Stories

The most important thing you will ever do on the internet related to Internet Marketing is engaging your audience affectively and in a meaningful manner. No, that doesn’t mean use software that copies stuff from the internet. It means you creating content that you can personally relate to with your own life and beliefs. It lets you be part of something special you personally value. You could possibly have your own website you’re addressing, you’re simply trying to rank in Google for organic traffic, you’re creating an article for your Facebook fan page, or whatever else.

You need to pay attention to what your audience is asking for, looking for, and want. Once you figure this out, then you write your article from the stance of your own personal thoughts and feelings. You can do this through both the picture and your actual content. Doing both will help you publish GREAT articles that people will really love to read and learn from yearning for more.

Street Articles Profile

Highly relating to how you engage your audience, this can consist of all the people who follow you “your tribe”. Then your profile has information about yourself, about who you are and what your company is about. It can also be about affiliate products you’re advertising for. On my profile, you'll see that I've effectively used it to tell people who I am and what I'm all about. Here, you can really tell the world what you really are all about.

As for some of the more specific parts about it, you can add 3 website links and connect your Facebook, Google +, and Twitter accounts. It also shows who is following you, who you are following, all your articles, and pictures of yourself. Then on the left hand side it shows how many people are in your tribe, author rank, how many Facebook likes you’ve gotten, Tweets, comments, number of articles you’ve published along with all your social profiles or links. Your author profile is very important, and should be taken with a grain assault.

Being Short and Sweet in your Body

When people are reading things off the internet, one thing that people don’t like is reading a MASSIVE amount of information. This is especially true if a lot of what you’re saying is redundant. This is also true if you’re purposefully trying to add extra meaningless words to your article just to hit the 400 word mark. DON’T. Take a chill pill and take your time! I can’t tell you how important it is to stay on topic, be short, and be sweet. Short and sweet to the point is awesome. Just write awesome content! You really don’t know how much your readers will love you if you do this.

Socializing and Street Talk

Probably the biggest way of getting ranked in Google (besides simply publishing your content) are through social likes and comments. When other people comment on your articles or like it via different social directories, this gives a serious boost in your rankings. Trust me, I’ve went from 3rd page rankings all the way to 1st page rankings just because of socializing. One great way of doing this is by taking part in groups that help each other get there articles to rank higher. If you want to know a group that I use a lot myself, leave a comment and I’ll be happy to tell you.

I also highly encourage you to comment on other people’s articles. This will often lead to a more following for yourself, and create even more future comments for your published content. Just 10 minutes every day can make a huge difference. Simply stated: get out and start socializing!

Other Places besides Street Articles

Some other places I suggest using are Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Youtube, Wealthy Affiliate, and the Warrior Forum. Other popular article directories you can use are Hubpages, Squidoo, Technorati, and Ezine Articles. There are MANY more places you can use besides this, and I really mean MANY. These are just a few top ones. By using other directories, you can start leveraging other types of media, people, and sources for your websites or company.

I’d like to point out that if you’re somebody that’s more of an affiliate marketer and works for yourself, I suggest mainly sticking to Street Articles. It’s not smart spreading yourself thin among a lot of different places. You need to first create a strong foothold in one place before you go to another. I suggest using Street Articles to create that strong foothold (unless you want to take another route and use places like Facebook or Youtube).

How to ALWAYS Rank on 1st Page of Google!

Let’s say you figure out that your title has no chance of getting ranked on the 1st page of Google. You can affectively use your h2 tags within your title body to rank on a keyword relevant to your keyword topic. So let’s say your topic is over “leg exercises for women” and you’re ranked on the 5th page of Google with little hope of reaching first.

What you can do is talk about an event somewhere in the world, even if it be in just in one town, over an exercise relating to “leg exercise for women”. What you can do is find a keyword or use common sense on what people will type in Google related to that event, and bold it as a header within your article. Then try to get up to 1% keyword density in your article containing that keyword (you don’t absolutely have too as I’ve explained earlier). In doing this, you create another keyword for getting ranked on. One good example is how I've ranked on a h2 tag for one of my articles called Electrical Engineering Photonic Devices. If you go on Google and type in my 2nd bolded header called "Electrical Engineers Build New Optical Laser", you'll see that I'm ranked on the 1st page of Google for that keyword. Cool stuff, right!?

Conclusion

In the end, it all depends on how much dedication you have for succeeding. If you’re willing to learn, put in the work, and strive to truly help people, you will be amazed at what you can really do. Also as a side note, if your looking for (more) expert advice on using Street Articles effectively and ranking high in Google, you can check out my more recent article called Expert Advice for the Expert Author.

Final Thoughts

If you learned anything from this, have any thoughts or questions, all comments are much appreciated. I hope you’ve learned something from this and really excel with what you love doing.

Great article Seth. Being new at this, it seems that I always make things harder for myself than they have to be. I have a really tough time with the "short and sweet" part or writing. There is so much information that I would want to pass on to others that I have a hard time figuring out whats most important in order to keep it short. Also I didn't realize that likes and comments on articles were so important! Thanks for the info.

Thanks Robert. I wrote this a while back ago but it still holds about full relevance. I'd have to say the only thing that could be revised is the 1% area for a keyword. Anymore, the only thing you need to do is put your main keyword that's in your title you're going after at the beginning of your article (NOT starting out - after like 1 or 2 words). Doing this creates a strong meta description in the Google search engines, giving you full SEO power aside from social signals you get from people liking your stuff. But yeah, the main thing is to just write great content people will love. I was about to get off while I was working on my site. I'm actually trying to spread out to all the other top directories out there, while still using Street Articles for the bulk of my work mainly over like News & Society type of stuff. Thanks for stopping by and glad to have you added.

OK< I wrote an article, followed your advice, and used two keywords, one for the title and one in the middle of the article. The second one has not ranked well at all, but the main one was page one on Google in 22 minutes. It does work.

Hey Shawn, that's awesome. Chances are your h2 tag didn't rank well because you picked a keyword with hard competition. It's preferable to target a keyword with 0 competition with a max of 2 or 3 pages. If you go more than that, you'll have a hard time ranking via your h2 tags. H2 tags aren't easy.
