I'm as lazy as they come, so I'd like to help out other lazy people and tell you that it is possible to start your own online business and be lazy at the same time. Actually, affiliate marketing is one of the best jobs for a lazy person because you can essentially create any schedule you want.
Just so I don't pull the 'ol bait-and-switch on you readers, I'll let you know that there will come a time when you have to do some actual work, so these online business ideas for lazy people won't work if you are completely apathetic to everything around. If that's you, I don't know what to prescribe for you situation. I'm a marketer, not a therapist.
Make a blog about your life
It's pretty tough to make money if you just blog about walking the dog or making bacon in the morning, but if you have a decent theme and really love what you do, it could work. You could make the "everything bacon blog" and share bacon-themed recipes every week. Or you could create the 'dog walkers network online" and rally dog-walking-enthusiasts in your city. These are great opportunities to either promote related products, or just make some money with Google advertising.
Best of all, you don't have to have a 'grand scheme', business plan, or learn very many new things. Just set up a website, tell people about what you love to do, and be active in related internet communities. It's a winning combination.
Only work on your websites when you want to
I do this one, because I'm pretty much useless in the morning. I don't start any real work until about 30 minutes before lunch, and then after eating, going to the gym, and watching a movie, I get started around 6 or 7 PM at night.
Sure, I'll put in a good 5 or 6 hours, but I don't mind staying up till 1 or 2 AM. I do my best work in the quite of the night when there are fewer distractions and I can focus on my work. I get the job done, on my terms, and that's what's so great about owning an internet based business.
Flip websites
Why bother with blogging, getting traffic, or interacting with people online when you can just do some keyword research, outsource a couple of articles (and the content on your site), then 'flip' it to someone that wants to keep building it.
Essentially, you're sitting in the big and comfy bosses-chair, directing people on what to write, when to deliver, how to post, and other bossy-things. You've got the big plan, your minions do the work. You may currently be a minion, so why not try being the boss for a while?
The downside is that you need to be able to develop a cohesive business strategy before you get started. After all, people are going to look to YOU for direction, and you're going to need to be able to answer their questions. But if you can handle the brain work, they'll do the leg work, and you'll end up with the lions-share of the profit.
