There is certainly no shortage of niche keyword generators out there, because niche research is an essential part of affiliate marketing. From personal experience, I know that starting a campaign without doing the proper research can leave you with a stunning site, but no traffic, no commissions, and no money.
Bummer, man.
So do you proper keyword research!
Of course, the type and brand of tool you use is up to you. Unfortunately, in the internet marketing niche, you're dealing with the best of the best when it comes to marketing tactics, so it's pretty hard to find a real, unbiased review of a keyword tool (in my opinion).
In this article I simply hope to show you the tools I use, and because you can try them for free, you lose nothing by simply trying them out, and making a decision based on how YOU feel, not just what some review site tells you!
Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Tool
This is not just a stand-alone keyword tool, it's actually part of an online business community where people learn about growing their businesses and making money on the internet. The tool is pretty bare-bones, with nothing fancy to write home about, but it works, and it's free for members of the community. Back when I had a tighter budget, it was the tool I used most.
Google Keyword Tool
Lots of marketers slam Google's KW tool because it returns inaccurate search numbers, and they're right to do so. But it's still a great way to find phrases or niches that you hadn't thought of, and see what people are searching for. It requires some very simple maths to figure out that though the numbers are severely inflated, you can still see which words are high/low competition, and which ones get searched for more simply by comparing data.
Jaaxy
Now, Jaaxy is my favorite keyword generator because there are many helpful features outside of just finding high quality keywords. There's a feature where you can analyze your competitors website, locate your ranking positions in Google, and even browse the hottest topics in various search engines. I think that 'keyword research suite' is a better description than 'tool'.
Conclusion
So again, these are just the tools that I use, and there are many more out there. All three of these have free versions. The Wealthy Affiliate KW tool and Jaaxy have premium versions as well. Both have limited number of searches per month for free subscriptions and unlimited searches if you upgrade.
If you're on a budget, my suggestion is to use each of them. You can use Google's tool to do your initial research to find low competition, high search-demand phrases. After all you get 30 free searches every month by using WA, and a total of 30 searches from Jaaxy. After you start generating some income you can then decide if a niche keyword finder is something you need for your business.
