I am a keen observer. I pay attention to everything. It is not so much a blessing as it is a curse. That is why I feel the need to sound the proverbial alarm on some strange happenings that I have witnessed. After 20 years of successful senior leadership and entrepreneurial experience I feel that it is my duty to inform the unwary reader of what is happening.
Affiliate marketing is curious and not in the, "Oh, look at that little kitten, isn't he curious," sort of way. There I said it. Affiliate marketing is the next Carlton Sheets real estate late-night-passive-income-money-machine phenomenon. Oh, sure there is plenty of information available for free on the web, but that will get you nowhere. Of course, every bit of free information is by some expert that claims to be an internet marketer. Those of us who latched on to the dream of affiliate marketing savor every little morsel of information and believe that we will be successful just by doing this one extra thing to improve our Rich Uncle Pennybags (Google) rating.
I have read countless websites and articles written by the experts. I have followed every bit of advice and committed myself to success. I have written more articles than I care to tell (Not really, this is my 101st). I have affiliated with nearly everything. Well, there is one that I have not, and that would be the Wealthy Affiliate.
I read the articles written by its followers and I am left unimpressed. Not by what they actually have to say about the program, but rather how they say it. Many are written with improper spelling and punctuation. Now, maybe I am old school, but the first thing I learned on my affiliate marketing career is that you have to base it on quality. I am not saying that every article I throw out is a masterpiece, but some of it is pretty good.
I admit I was slow on the learning curve of back-linking to increase traffic, but even when I have done it properly I have not had that great of success. I have considered writing serial pieces and having them end on the batman note of, "tune in tomorrow to find out the ending. Same affiliate station, same affiliate channel." I guess I figure the reader is too smart to fall for carnival ideas such as this, but here goes anyway, there is only one way to drive traffic I have learned that really works.
Thanks for reading.
You not only missed the mark, but the one link you had in the article is broken and gives a 404 error. I rather think you should join Wealthy Affiliate and at least you would be able to learn not to make this type of easy to avoid error in the links!
I titled this before I wrote it. I think I missed the mark. Do you agree?
