Sometimes, getting ranked high in Google's search engine is a painfully slow process. It can take weeks, or months to rank in the top 10, let alone the top 3 for a keyword you're targeting. Unfortunately, there is no magic formula for ranking well or fast, for that matter.
There is however a pretty easy to rank fast in Google, but it will require that you mold your campaign around a these two things, and they may not fit in with your industry, business model, audience, or niche. Still, I've found doing these two things to be extremely helpful for getting ranked quickly.
1. Make a YouTube Video
If this video isn't your thing, at least try it in some form. It doesn't have to be a caffeinated vlog edited and souped-up with effects, jump cuts, and all that jazz. A simple, informative video is enough.
Be sure to get your target phrase in the title of the video, in the description, and in the tags of the video. Share it on social media sites like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter uploading.
Honestly, doing just those things, I can rank a video somewhere in spot 4-10 within a couple hours of posting. It doesn't always stay there, but it is there for a period of time. Sometimes it moves up with views, or sometimes it fades into the background after a couple of days. Usually after a period of time, if there is little or no video competition for this keyword phrase, then it'll stay at a steady spot #2.
YouTube is owned by Google, and their videos always get favorable positions. Getting a link in your description box or through your associated website annotations can mean people find your site through your YouTube channel.
2. Choose Low Competition Keywords
It can be tempting to want to rank for high competition stuff once you figure out the power of YouTube but sorry, you're a little late to the party.
People have been ranking videos for some time now, so the phrases you really want have probably been discovered by quite a few other people, considering we're probably all using similar keyword research tools.
But by choosing low competition keywords without any (or very few) videos made on the topic, you can get your content found both in YouTube and Google faster.
Not only that, but as I mentioned earlier, it'll stay there, and many times outrank written content that is targeting the same phrase!
Conclusion
Ranking a YouTube video for a low competition keyword is pretty easy, and can get your blog post ranked fairly quickly, and with a minimal amount of effort. You can use this same method to rank for higher competition keywords as well, but it will most likely take a lot more work to get in those top spots.
That is a nice piece! Planning to start using videos in my campaign
Cool. Too bad vimeo and other video hosting/sharing websites don't get ranked as well or as fast!
Yeah. Videos rank very well. Sometimes it can be tough to get people to your website from a video, but I've found that I can rank videos much easier than with written text.
