There are many possibilities that are out there to promote a web site today, some that can cost money and other tactics that won't cost you a dime. Depending on what you would rather invest, time or money, there are many different ways to promote a web site.

I chose to spend more time than money because that seemed to be my only option. So I pursued a marketing campaign focusing on free article marketing and any other free way I could find to promote. Article marketing, popularly know as the practice of writing articles and submitting them to article sites to promote a web site, can be a great way to drive traffic to your sites for free, but doing it as effectively as possible can save you a lot of frustration.

Some of the following practices helped me make article writing as efficient as possible.

Find A Quiet Place/Schedule Quiet Time: I have a household of seven members and a dog, making it very difficult to find some space, let alone time to work on what I want to and concentrate. You can't be very effective if you can't keep a thought in your head before being disturbed or interrupted. So it's essential to find a time and place you can be able work, think and write uninterrupted.

Be Consistent: It helps to be consistent both in the time and place you decide to write in. I found it easier to get into my writing mindset when it was based on a routine. Somehow, each session I would sit down and write, the preparation time was less and less. Besides, if you find a place where your interruptions are minimized, stick with it.

Write About Something You Know Or Experienced: It is so much easier to write about something that you know about than to write about something you have never experienced. Even if what you write about is so simple you don't think anyone would be interested you could be surprised. Just be sure to do the proper keyword research and implementation. There are a lot of specific sites out there that cater to the strange and sometimes bizarre, so being a little different can be beneficial.

Prepare It In List Form: I have found myself struggling many times trying to figure out how I intend to structure what I want to say when I am writing an article. Once I came across the technique of writing things out in a list form, it helped me organize my thoughts and therefore make for a more pleasant experience. This works great, enabling you to write a useful, precise article in a reasonable amount of time.

Keep Writing: Get as many useful articles out there without sacrificing the content and you may be surprised by a nice flow of traffic to your site.

Like anything else, the more you do something, the better you will become. Keep at it and you may be surprised by the fruits of you labor.
