Internet marketing for your business doesn't happen overnight! Are you ever tongue-tied about your business?
Relax
If so, relax. It's okay to be tongue-tied about your business because you don't have to be perfect.
Confidence
You're not alone! As you continuously improve you'll gain confidence.
Learning
You see, it's easy to feel a little nervous and stumble over your words in any situation. But whenever you're learning new skills that happens a bit more.
Knowing to expect that helps. Knowing it's not exactly going away helps, too. Because with Internet marketing stuff changes continuously (just like your life!).
Continuous improvement
When you want to make money online you've got to keep learning. Partly because there's simply lots to learn.
Yet you've also got to keep an open mind to the idea of continuous improvement. Kind of like the old, "keeping up with the Joneses" people used to joke about. But for real.
When new stuff happens you can't just say you know other stuff. You've got to be willing to check "it" out whenever "it" seems to be "big" enough to warrant your consideration.
The secret to Internet marketing
Being honest! If you say yes to "are you ever tongue-tied about your business" it simply means you're being honest.
The secret to Internet marketing is to stay that way. Not tongue-tied! Honest.
Honest with yourself. Honest with your market. Honest in your need for continuous improvement. Honest in your willingness to help people change their lives with whatever you offer.
Your home on the Internet
Internet marketing requires building a foundation. Just like your dream home!' Why? Because...
(1) You invest in a good spot as your site (location, location, location)
(2) You figure out your goals (let's get a site where we can put the ocean as the back yard, shall we?)
(3) You decide what kind of foundation you want and where (on bedrock but not too close to that cliff)
(4) You want guests so you plan for helping people (extra bathrooms, big pantry, huge kitchen)
(5) If you'll host young children you put in safety stuff (child-proof cabinet locks, fenced in yard)
(6) If your guests like hot tubs you've got some with ocean views (others with privacy!)
(7) You plan for all this taking time, talent and treasure (exactly like your list, right?).
You don't expect to move in the day you buy your site. It takes time to build (unless your dream includes bringing along a tent with an outhouse).
Whenever your guests ask, "Are you ever tongue-tied about your business?" Smile and relax so you can share your story, "Yes! Because.."
Congratulations! Great job Shawn. Thanks for your visit and compliment.
Great! (Somehow I can't imagine you ever tongue tied about anything Rob;)
Very nice work Cynthia - honest, responsible, constant learning .. words most people stay far away from!
Thank you Wayne! You're right. That's sad, isn't it? On the other hand, it makes it a secret of internet marketing. If you're honest, responsible and engage in constant learning there's no limit to the good you can do. Especially when your making money goals include helping people. Especially when your way of spending money includes donating in ways that make a difference in the world.
Great stuff, just keeping it real! Love your last line, I may borrow it :) "Yes, because..." What a great intro line!
Thank you! Yes, definitely --- but you should know where it's coming from if you do and use it in positive, healthy, ethical ways. Because that's my psychology degree speaking to you. There's studies out there on how people interact. The word "BECAUSE" changes interactions. Especially one on one interactions. It's kind of a shortcut in the brain for people that turns your answer into a socially acceptable and comfortable situation faster. So use it - but carefully, honestly, ethically. Because the stakes are high.
