Just like a pie needs a good crust, you need a good basic recipe for internet marketing. The filling is more complicated and has its own recipes. For now, we’re going to look at the basic recipe to build a good “crust” for your new internet marketing business. I have based this basic recipe around sites that are all free.

I was so very confused when I started so I just want to take a few moments here to put your immediate tasks in a recipe format. Ingredients first with directions to follow:

Preheat your brain so you will comprehend the hundreds of things thrown at you! Next, grease up your fingers to prepare for crazy typing.

Ingredients:

1) Open an account at Street Articles. This is free and where you will be sending your articles.

2) Open an account at Blogger. This is also free and this is where you will be linking your articles.

3) Open an account at Clickbank. Again, this is free. This is the internet marketplace for e-books and e-videos.

4) Open both twitter and facebook accounts if you don’t have them yet. You will be tweeting and posting your articles and your blogs. Very easy instructions! And free to join.

a. Both of these social media sites are so very beneficial in driving traffic to your articles, your blog site, and ultimately to your products.

Directions:

1) Take one of your interests, anything you are passionate about and write a descriptive how-to article in a word document that is 400-600 words. Do not stress out! You’re turning a hobby, interest, or passion into your niche that you will be marketing. It’s just like telling your girlfriends “how to…” It’s that easy. Once the creative juices get flowing, there’s no stopping you.

2) Save that article as a word document. Please be sure to check your grammar and spelling. Even at only 400 words, put out quality that you are proud of. Don’t publish just to publish.

3) Now, go to Clickbank. Under market place, find a product that pertains to your article topic. Go to that website to make sure it is relevant; watch or read the promo. It helps to know what product you’re promoting.

4) Now you’re going to write a blog post that is relevant to your article and subtly promotes your product (do not duplicate any part of your article, Street Articles will not publish it). And, do not use blatant promotions on your blog. You can write a review or how a product has helped you.

5) Go back to Clickbank, find your product again, click promote button, and hit create. A code will show up in a skinny box. Highlight it, copy it and then…

6) Go back to your blog post, go from view/compose to html tab. At the beginning of your article, put your cursor there and hit paste. Your Clickbank link is now embedded.

7) Finally, you can go back to Street Articles (login to your account and go to your dashboard). Take your original article, copy and paste it here. Be sure to give your article a title and type your keyword list (words would you use if you were searching for the topic of your article).

8) Go to your blog, copy the URL to that post. Now you can link your article to your blog (and your promotion). After 300 words, you can make two links up to five words each. To do this, highlight your words of choice (make sure it’s a natural flowing link-no blatant promotional links), click the sideways figure eight looking icon at the top of your text box (the left one), and paste the URL (from your blog) in the box.

9) Lastly, upload a picture for your article (200x200 min). People like pictures. Now you’re ready to hit Publish!

10) Now you can tweet your articles and posts as well as send them to your facebook page. More views=more traffic!
