As we all know the world has changed a lot, but do you really know what that means? The changes affect everything from technology to employment opportunities and even though just about everyone believes that change is good, in general, some changes create challenges we may not be prepared for. The most impactful changes have negatively affected our lifestyle because of increasing costs, changing vocational opportunities and cutbacks and downsizing of traditional career paths. This, in turn, has caused a lot of us to pursue secondary or alternative opportunities to increase our incomes.
I’m no exception, and over the last twenty years, while my chosen career has become increasingly untenable, I’ve tenaciously hung onto it while trying to find a vehicle that would get me out of the “rat race” and into the lifestyle I’ve always dreamed of.
I tried all of the multi-level and network marketing schemes and failed at all of them. The reasons why I failed are universal to all of the so called opportunities I’ve tried and are also pretty well understood by the multitudes of other people that have done the same thing. Some of those reasons are: It takes money to make money; You have to depend on your family, friends and neighbors to succeed; In some cases you can’t tell your prospects what it is you do, up front, or you’ll scare them off; Most of them are pyramids, and; In most cases, the people who were making all of the money were the authors of the books and/or other “training materials”.
I finally came to the realization that if I wanted to find a vehicle that would enable me to truly accomplish my goals it would have to meet the following criteria: The product(s) would have to be valuable, consumable and in demand; The marketing method would have to be workable and repeatable; The company would have to be interested in my success; The principals would have to be true educators who have actually succeeded at what they are teaching, The industry would have to be dynamic with no ceiling; And, lastly, it would have to be affordable (cheap) with no “hidden” costs.
Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that this seems like a lot to ask for, but if you created a wish list for the ideal income opportunity I bet it would look just like mine.
I started searching for the vehicle I wanted on line and began learning about Internet Marketing. I had always thought that Internet Marketing was all about selling things on Ebay but I had no idea how to do that and I didn’t have any money either.
Interestingly enough, I found the ideal vehicle while I was trying to determine if several “Affiliate Internet Marketing” schemes were really scams. They sounded too good to be true, and as it turns out, they were. However, during that process I found a vehicle that embodies all of the factors I was looking for plus the added benefit that I don’t have to buy, handle or warehouse inventory.
The company is WA, The Wealthy Affiliate University, and if you are interested in learning more you can check it out by clicking on one of the links in this article.
