When I decided to jump on the Internet bandwagon to learn how to make money online, i realized that there were so many products to choose from. It was like choosing a computer from the numerous brands and configurations available to the extent that I became confused. On top of that, I experienced information overload.

What I came across were many short videos as well as free webinars that claim that their products were the best and could help you make money money online quickly. Claims such as making a million with just 6 clicks of your mouse, earn $300 per day while you sleep, etc. were made by the Internet Marketers who tried to sell you their products. I must say that they were pretty convincing, showing evidence through screenshots of Clickbank lucrative earnings, showing off their latest convertible and expensive house as well as pictures of they and their families travelling to exotic spots around the world.

As a newbie, who wouldn't be taken in by all these promises of a care-free life working only 2 hours per day to achieve all these while you sleep? Let me tell you this: all these are simply scams. There is no such thing as quick riches or overnight riches with an online business.

An online business is no different from a brick and mortar business. You will still need to set up the shop (in this case a website), stock up products to sell (either you create your own or sell other people's products) and then attract target customers (drive target traffic) to your shop (website).

What I have come to realize so far is that most individual products cannot teach me how to make money online. What really works for me is a membership site, for example Wealthy Affiliate University and other similar membership sites.

Such membership sites have every resources you need to succeed online: experienced Internet Marketers (the site owners themselves), training videos, latest updates on marketing practices, forum members who share their experiences and many more. They take you on a step by step journey towards Internet Marketing success. No promises of quick riches overnight but pushing you to take action step by step in order to achieve success.

What's assuring is that there are already a lot of members in such sites and they are really helpful. Yes, it's a monthly subscription but everything you need is all here. Do not buy any other products from other Internet Marketers once you joined the membership site. There is no need to.
