How the Entrepreneur Thinks

Thinking like a entrepreneur is as simple as changing how you look at a few things in life. Now most people are either going to be an entrepreneur or they are not, but that doesn't mean you can't adopted the thinking of one for your own.

A change in thinking

An entrepreneur wants to be on their own. They don't want to have to work for someone else, they want to be their own boss. An entrepreneur isn't worried about job security or benefits like insurance or a 401(k) plan. They want to make their own, they don't want to climb the corporate ladder, they want to own the ladder themselves.

You fail when you stop going forward

Lots of people think that if they don't get something done correct the very first time that they failed. Well not an entrepreneur, entrepreneur's believe that they just found a way not to do something in life. All great people have had more "failures" in their life then successes, but it is only the successes we hear about and acknowledge. Do you think any person that is great at anything they do hasn't messed up ever? Well, they have and so will you, the difference is they will keep going and most people will give up.

How can I do more

Entrepreneurs want to know how they can do more. They aren't satisfied with the status quo, they want to make things better, easier, more efficient. You know the kinds of people that aren't like that. The employees who just want to go to work, do their job, and collect that pay check at the end of the week. They aren't going to create much in terms of success and financial freedom for themselves.

Lets change how we do that

People who think like entrepreneurs know that they are always growing and changing. That the world is always growing and changing. What worked last year or three years ago might not work today. They realize that they are in a constant state of learning, and that it will never stop because growing never stops. Other people think that just because they learned about the subject in high school four years ago, that they don't need to learn anymore now today.

The biggest thing I would say is they don't think of failure as anything but how not to do something. If I build something and it doesn't work the way I was wanting it to, well, what does that mean? That only means I learned how not to do something. I only failed if I give up, I only fail if I don't see a different way to look at something.

Street Talk

I think the most important point you make in this article is: "The biggest thing I would say is they don't think of failure as anything but how not to do something." When we fail, we are only producing an undesired result. Successful people are stubborn enough to tweak and adjust until they produce the desired results they are after.

Very true. It is that tweaking that creates results, because when you start something you aren't going to do it all correct the very first time.

Its a process. Keep it in mind and one day you will look at the world through the lens of an entrepreneur and won't know exactly when the change occurred. Just keep at it little by little.
