Now that you have some inkling as to go about adding items and content to a web site using an HTML editor, here are some things to add:
Pages: Add as many pages as you like beyond the index.html, about us, and contact us. You might add a disclaimer page to satisfy your attorney (if you have one). You can link directly to these pages from articles you write, Internet ads, and forums, etc.
Images: Add as many as you like and specify how you want them aligned, right, left, or centered. You can change the size if it does not suit you. Just make sure you keep the proportions the same. You don't want a thin man or fat lady do you?
Tables: These are easy to add with most HTML editors. They can be very useful to form columns. For example, a 2 x 1 table covering the page allows you to have two columns. I suggest that you use this feature rather than the columns feature on your editor. Some browsers can't read columns or get confused by them. If you are using a template, you don't have to worry about this. The template will keep you straight.
Site Links: You can link pictures or text to another site. If you want a good ranking with Google and other search engines, these links will provide more content on the keyword subject you are using. Watch out for links that lead folks away from your site and can cost you business losses.
Email Links: You can put a statement like “Ask Me a Question” on a web page then link it to your email address. You can even add the subject line to the email as “Ask Me a Question.”
Forms: You can collect email addresses and names and other information using forms. To collect names I suggest that you use the form script from Aweber or GetResponse or another such service. When the form is entered the service will make sure the visitor wants to receive information from you (subscribe to you email services such as a newsletter or product update, etc.) The service will also send a welcoming email and any special emails such as an online course that you have specified to be send according to your schedule.
Your listing list building service will also allow your readers to unsubscribe at any time. Don't overload your subscribers with e-mails and offers.
If you want business, you will collect email addresses and names.
