Its True: You Really Can Learn How to Sell A Product Online And Heres How

I know - SELLING seems such a scary word, doesn't it? But, it doesn't have to be; if I can show you how to sell a product online WITHOUT really having to do any selling, that would probably be a bit more appealing, wouldn't it? Well, stick around, because I think you're going to LIKE what I'm about to share with you.

How To Sell A Product Online - Find Something People Are Desperate For

The first step in learning how to sell a product online is to find people that have a NEED they are desperate to fill or a PROBLEM they want to fix.

So, how do you find people like that? Think of one or two markets in which people face challenges they're willing to spend unlimited amounts of money to overcome. How about weight loss? Now, that's a MASSIVE market that brings in billions of dollars a year.

Here's another one - golf. You may even know a weekend warrior who's desperate to improve his game, SPENDING MONEY like there's no tomorrow to rid himself of that terrible slice.

And that's just two MONSTER markets, or niches, off the top of my head and there are PLENTY more.

How To Sell A Product Online - Offer The Ideal Solution

The next step in learning how to sell a product online is to take each market idea and run it through your preferred keyword research tool, and see how many great ideas it produces. But, HERE'S A TIP - if you're interested in selling golf products, keywords like "golf" or "golf clubs" will be far too competitive for you to have any chance of being found by somebody searching online.

So, you want to find what are called LONG-TAIL (or 4-5 word) keywords (or phrases, in this case) that have a reasonable number of monthly searches (less than 45,000) and not too much competition (less than 1,000 sites).

OK, so you've got your market and some GREAT keywords to target. Now comes the fun part in learning how to sell a product online - finding products to sell to this hungry market you've found. Where do you go?

For digital products (online courses, e-books, etc.), look at Clickbank and Commission Junction, where you'll find THOUSANDS of products you can offer for sale as an affiliate.

Another option is to take your seed keyword (say, "weight loss"), and enter that, along with the word "affiliate", into a search engine to find leading affiliate offers for products in that market. Also, try Amazon - join their Associates program, and choose from the MILLIONS of products they offer.

How To Sell A Product Online - Set Your Web Site Up To Succeed

It's time to build your web site TO PULL IN all those customers that are hungry for what you have to offer, the last step in learning how to sell a product online. That's done by CREATING CONTENT on your site developed around the keywords you found during the keyword research you did earlier.

The content should be well-written, informative and USEFUL, enticing your visitor to remain on your site and provide you with the outcome you desire - a paying customer.

To make sure you're bringing in truly targeted visitors whose next move is to click the "BUY" button on your site, you need to do a bit more keyword research using words such as "buy", "purchase" and "get" along with your content keywords. Grab some of those keywords and sprinkle them on your sales pages, again contained in high quality content, and get ready to REAP THE REWARDS of all that hard work in the form of happy, TARGETED customers.

And that's how to sell a product online! Not that painful, eh? And no slick salesmen or sales tactics involved - just finding out what people want and filling that need. And that's only the beginning - if you're ready to dig deeper and develop the skills you've learned in how to sell a product online even further, the sky's the limit.
