Everyone is talking about the dilemma of our Senior Citizens. Most have worked many years to attain a comfortable retirement. The problem is that the economy has eroded a considerable amount of their buying power and reserves. This leaves some of them with little alternative but to find a part time job.
Jobs for Senior Citizens is becoming a buzz word. We all know about the part time work that is out there. Greeters at the big chain stores, helping out at Mom and Pop stores, working at fast food chains. All honest work but really is that how you want to spend your so called golden years? I for one was not willing to accept that fate.
I took a leap of faith and entered the Internet marketing arena. I considered the possible (probable) ridicule I would face but thought the hell with it. I approached it as I had any other endeavor before I was retired. I listed the pros and cons (the pros won in a landslide). I determined what I would have to learn to enter this market. I quickly realized that even though I was computer literate, I didn’t know squat about internet marketing.
The next step was to find a training facility that was good but affordable. A Google search produced hundreds of so called training sites that were eager to take my money. I started checking out forums and blogs related to internet marketing. Again there were plenty of sites willing to take my money. I remained cautious and Lady Luck smiled on me at last. A friend of a friend was into Internet Marketing. I managed to arrange a one on one meeting and he told me about the training site he had used to make enough income to quit his job and do Internet Marketing full time.
This company was exactly what I was looking for. Reasonably priced, no long term commitment and a great reputation. I signed up and was happy to find out the company was all that my friend had told me it was. I was quickly immersed in building a website, purchasing a domain name and all that was necessary to enter the internet marketing arena.
I know that internet marketing is not for everyone but if you have any desire to check it out I recommend the training site I’m using without any reservations. If you take the plunge you will be part of a worldwide community that has decided to control their own destiny instead of being controlled by big business and fear of the unknown.
Thanks Shawn and yes it is. I follow him on Facebook also
Although this doesn't affect me yet, I know it will in the future, as I don't see the economy getting any better! ....It's a sad reality that you work so hard to find yourself still working for peanuts when you reach a maturer age. An inspirational article John, thanks for sharing and making us more aware of the hardships retiring people can face.
Thanks for your comment Teresa. I've found that the work is not all that bad. I have met some super people and i am keeping my brain active so all is good
And how is it going John.?? would love to know... my computer program is now in beta test stage and the future sales look good... but this was something I considered for a while... would love to know if it is meeting your required income shortfall...
Great to hear from you Rob. I have not reached my financial goals yet but I haven't really been pursuing the money aspect. I have built my igotfish website to about 40 visits a day and a very modest income. Now that it is established I'm going to pursue an income. Glad to hear your computer program is moving forward. Keep us informed
Great article, it is true that you can make progress if you leave your comfort zone, Regards Keith
It really was a leap of faith for me but it has worked out great
Nice article, John. Always good to read about people who have the courage to make that leap into the unknown!
