In addition, you get to see how much they spend per day, the nature of the adverts they use, the money they spend per click and the type of landing pages they use. You may also want to have a look at the click through rates, CTR, as well as the quality of traffic to their website.

Without mincing words, all I am saying is that, a keyword spy tool can help you look behind the curtain so you could see what your competitors are doing in their online marketing campaigns. The tool will help you plan, research your own campaign and also help you with valuable keywords to target and yield much profit in your search engine optimization campaigns.

However, I need to mention here that various keyword spy tools that work in different ways. They use a number of different keywords to collate and display the keyword data. Now, how does a keyword spy tool work?

Well, a keyword spy tool works by using the data provided by Google to control advertising activities across so many keywords. Some tools may even want you to pick the keywords you want to research and monitor advertising activities on the keywords for a particular period of time. On the other hand, other tools work by just pulling in data immediately on request.

In addition, some keyword spy services work by collating the data from other tools at different rates from other tools. In real terms of usability, it means that if you use about 3 keyword spy tools, you may have a slight difference in the data you get. The reason for this is that, while some tools show you results from a month ago, others can show you results from just two weeks ago. For this reason, I think a keyword spy tool plays a minor role in your overall campaign research. However, I think it is vital to pick just a keyword spy tool, discounting all other competitors, and use it religiously!

I find it important to say here, that, not every keyword spy tool generates accurate data after having tested some in my online ad campaigns. It is also worthy of note that, relying on a keyword spy tool to do all your research is really not the best.
