Local Marketing Strategies

What is the convenience of local stores? Local stores are places where people can dine and shop without having to travel far. These stores provide a valuable service to the community. Local marketing strategies help store owners create relationships within their community.

The following are some marketing strategies that can help local business succeed.

Local Publications

Whether you own a local pet shop or baby store, notifying your local newspaper can help you in find potential customers. Write articles that give useful tips and advice so that you can answer any question they may be looking for.

Discount Cards

Create discount cards for customers to use towards special offers, discount prices and free product samples. These cards will create an incentive for you customers to visit your store and take interest in the savings you have to offer.

Local Television Advertisement

Television advertisement might not fit your budget at first however; you can use your video camera to create your own advertisement by asking your customers to provide a review of your business. Broadcast your video through social marketing website and on your own website. If you use an entertaining and funny video it could cause customers to share with their family and friends which in return may cause new customers to visit and make a purchase.

Referral Program

Just like with discount cards create some type of referral program. One of the leading ways to help your business grow is by word-of-mouth. Customers listen to what others have to say about a business whether it be about the prices, customer service and the type of products that are being offered. Offer incentives for loyal customers who refer family and friends to your business. Incentives can be in the form of cash or gift certificates.

Email Marketing

Ask your customers to provide their email address so that they may receive special promotions or new products added. Create a survey form and ask for information like what their favorite product is or what other type of products they would like to see you carry. Make sure they provide you a means of getting in contact with them by providing a name and email address. Also inform them that you will not be selling their email address. Collect business cards as well. This information will assist you in creating an email list and also gather information on what your customers are looking for. Encourage them to forward you emails to their family and friends.
