For many people, making money writing blogs is just a dream. They may already have a blog, yet being able to make money from it seems like a ridiculously impossible task, almost futile trying. If that sounds like you, read on, because in fact, it is not only possible for ANYONE to make money on a blog, but it is also very straight forward and achievable.
What You Need
Of course, you will need a blog, but that is not what you will need to do first. The very first thing you need to do is choose a topic that you want to write about. If I can offer my suggestions, you will also want it to be something that you can write about regularly, that means something that will need to be updated often, and something that you will WANT to update often, there is no point getting bored of a blog after a few months.
Another suggestion would be to choose a niche topic, something that doesn't necessarily got a huge amount of traffic, but something that you can easily rank yourself highly in search engines for. As they say, it is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond. Or in terms of traffic, it is better to be ranked number 1 for a 50 searches per month term, than number 1,000 for a 5 million searches per month term. Besides, you can easily blog about enough different search terms to collect yourself 500-1,000 visitors a month.
You will also need to understand what I just said. That means you will need to know what keyword research is, what search engine optimization is, and how to implement both into your blog. Don't panic! I will talk more about learning this further down the page.
How You Will Make Money
Now, once you have established your blog, and began to write good quality, unique content for it (no spam or copied content please, Google says no) you will start to receive traffic. How long this takes will depend on how much competition you are facing, but if you persist, it is inevitable that you will get good traffic. Google loves quality content. So how do you go about making money from that traffic? Well, here are a few quick ways:
- Having Google Ads on your blog
- Having reviews of products or services related to your blog, and receiving commissions when people buy them
- Offering your own services of products for sale
There are many more ways besides those three, but these are the easiest to understand and the easiest to implement.
What Next?
Now you need training. You need to know how to do the above things, how to build your blog, and how to do it well. There is very good training available and it will not require you to empty (or even open) your wallet, so I would suggest investing some time into your education some more before you continue.
